About this Opportunity

The role of IT Consultant-CAE Platforms entails global responsibility for maintaining the stability and enhancing the performance of Magna Electronics' CAE platforms. You will play a key role in understanding business needs, providing strategic guidance on the use of global CAE platforms, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to analyze issues, propose solutions, and drive successful utilization of CAE platforms worldwide.

Desired Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree specializing in engineering or Information technology

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Mechanical Structural, Thermal, Electromagnetic Simulations or Optics & Optomechanical toolchains with expertise in system administration, support, and development
  • Proficiency in IT administration and Server maintenance
  • Experience in creating SCCM Package(s) of tools is a plus
Your Role's Responsibilities

Operations

  • Install CAE tools on Server(s)
  • Liaise with CAE Tool suppliers and users
  • Support CAE Tool evaluation(s)
  • Oversee service operations and associated components
  • Ensure timely resolution of solution-related tickets and issues
  • Optimize license usage and coordinate technical activities for CAE tool chain improvement

Strategic

  • Assist in the implementation and global roll-out of CAE tools alongside engineering stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications

Skills/Knowledge

  • Thorough knowledge of Tool, System Administration & customization of CAE toolchain (Preference for Ansys, Altair Tool chains)
  • Advanced understanding of CAE simulation processes
  • Proficiency in enterprise CAE operations and maintenance
  • Familiarity with licensing servers and hosting systems related to CAE
  • Basic knowledge of Automotive Standards and programming/scripting (VB Script, SCCM)

Personal skills

  • Ability to work efficiently in a global setting with minimal supervision
  • Effective communication of technical concepts internally and externally
  • Structured and planned approach to tasks
  • Strong team player with cross-functional thinking and excellent communication skills
