Job overview and responsibilities

This developer position plays a critical role in our journey to modernize the development process in Revenue Management Systems. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues, opportunities, or problems in order to maximize the benefit of IT and Business investments.

Your primary focus will be to work with large datasets to analyze and solve complex problems. You will ensure that these components and the overall application are robust and easy to maintain. You will be part of a team working on different layers of the cloud using AWS services. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, design, and quality products is important.

Develop and modify software applications/systems according to specificationsBasic understanding of requirements analysisProvides limited support to the software development leads (Senior Developer) during the design portion of the SDLCSupport and troubleshoot software systems as required, optimizing performance, resolving problems, and providing follow-up on all issues and solutionsComplete comprehensive unit testing on all developed/enhanced softwareDemonstrate working knowledge of SDLC processes, inputs/outputs, standards and best practicesDemonstrate working knowledge of development methodologies, software design and design patterns, integration standards as well as its applicability at coding and testing cyclesDemonstrate working knowledge of software engineering best practices such as: versioning and versioning control, software packaging and software release managementDemonstrate working knowledge of the application of development domain areas and specific technologies and tool sets.

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded. This position is for United Airlines Business Services Pvt. Ltd - a wholly owned subsidiary of United Airlines Inc.



Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field 2+ years of IT and business/industry work experience 2+ years of experience building large-scale distributed applications with C/C++, Shell Scripting, AWK, Python2+ years of experience in MySQL, RDS, RedshiftExposure to AWS Cloud services (such as, EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, CloudTrail, CloudFront, Lambda, EKS, and/or ECS) and experience on cloud-based applications with GlueWorking knowledge and skills of using a Linux environmentWorking knowledge of version control tools e.g. Git/Github, ADOKnowledge of GDB/DDD debuggerRequires advanced technical and business knowledge in software development life cycle, quality assurance, project management and other related disciplines/processes Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the positionDesign, test, benchmark, and track the performance of analytic solutions over timeWork with teams across data organization to continually improve results by validating observations and insights and refining/enriching the data as neededEffective communication skillsEffective technical documentationTeam-playerMust be self-motivatedAnalytical thinkerGrasp of TechnologyMust be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorshipMust be fluent in English (written and spoken)Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationReliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
