Who we are looking for

This is a key leadership position in Global Delivery India, as well as the India Fund Accounting & Administration management team.

Within Global Delivery, the Securities Valuations teams are responsible for delivering core services to State Street end customers. The Head of Securities Valuation India leads a team responsible for pricing underlying investments and funds held globally across ABOR, IBOR and Custody.

This role also requires significant leadership within the region/location and legal entity.

While this role is advertised to be in Pune/Coimbatore, as such the role could be location agnostic in a location where we have a significant presence in India.

What you will be responsible for

As Head of Securities Valuation India you are responsible for implementing strategy and delivery.

  • Reporting directly to the Head of India Fund Accounting & Administration and matrix to the Global Head of Securities Valuation.
  • Managing Securities Valuation India in all facets of valuations ensuring fair valuation per internal/external agreements in a timely manner (agreed internal and external deadlines).
  • Ensure Company/Securities Valuation Strategy is fully understood, translated to all staff and targets met per agreed execution dates.
  • Shares Valuations and Managerial knowledge in supporting NNB, Alpha onboarding, Client change and Ops model changes/challenges.
  • Represents Securities Valuation India in cross-departmental or cross-divisional meetings, along with external Valuations focused industry event opportunities.
  • Monitor and stay abreast of Industry changes / events impacting Valuations. Liaise with external bodies and internal departments to ensure appropriate analysis and preparation is completed.
  • Report regularly to senior management within Securities Valuation as well as being a part of the support process for meetings as and when required.
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy across all relevant functions.
  • Directly accountable for the production and deliverables performed by State Street India
  • Work closely with the global heads to develop, monitor and action the business plan and budgets for those business activities performed at State Street India in line with corporate and division goals.
  • Ensure that the business has the right resources, including staff, training, oversight and control functions, IT and financial, to operate effectively.
  • Drive continuous improvement: productivity, quality, and Risk Excellence; key KPI's include driving down aged defects and budgets.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for transformation and capacity creation.
  • Ensure teams are in compliance with internal and external regulations and follow escalation procedures.
  • Ensure that all procedures are reviewed regularly, and that proposed changes are vetted with the global heads prior to implementation in order to maintain global alignment.
  • Conduct periodic business reviews ensuring associated risks are identified and managed and remedial action is taken where appropriate. Ensure that appropriate management information is produced and reviewed at regular intervals.
  • Proactive expense management, including headcount, in line with the budget.
  • All matters that could have an adverse impact on State Street, its clients and its relationships with regulators will be escalated to relevant regional/country leads, Global Head of Securities Valuation, relevant functional heads and to legal entity boards as appropriate.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • 18 years + experience in financial services, presently in a leadership role managing large operations
  • Technical knowledge of asset classes & market data vendor services, working knowledge of impact of asset pricing on ABOR, IBOR and custody services being delivered to clients
  • Navigate a large, global organization. Build meaningful relationships and develop an effective network
  • Work successfully in a matrixed environment. Effectively manage multiple stakeholders, determine highest priorities for the organization, identify and resolve contention between directives
  • Proven leadership skills as well as managing and developing a high performing operations team
  • Experience interfacing at a senior level with Clients, service providers and Regulators
  • Proven track record of achieving/exceeding financial goals through expense discipline and headcount management
  • Experience with change management programs in sponsorship, leadership roles
  • Demonstrated ability to execute under challenging circumstances and deliver targeted outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, coach and influence colleagues and virtual team members
  • Cross-cultural awareness and the ability to connect with colleagues globally in a collaborative, open work environment. To serve as a role model of acceptance and flexibility in dealing with colleagues with varying backgrounds
