The "SCM Operations Manager" is responsible for managing the SCM operations of Manufacturing sites at Bangalore. The position is required to be a team player in highly demanding Supply Chain Org in a medical device and/or molecular in-vitro diagnostic company, responsible for leading and managing all aspects of Supply Chain Operations from Raw material, Planning, Procurement, Logistics and Delivery to Customers.

This role will be accountable for all SCM Operations at the manufacturing site and will be a single point of contact for site Plant head, Global Supply Chain, and India Commercial/sales team to ensure Effective and timely co-ordination with external and internal teams to drive operational deliverables. The role is expected to communicate effectively in a matrix environment, use best practices to analyze and solve problems thru team based approach.

This position is part of the Global Supply Chain Management and will be 100% on-site role reporting into Director GSCM & Program Management India. Cepheid works in a matrix organization structure. Will manage team of key plant supply chain functions like purchasing, planning and logistics wherein all functions have solid dotted line to their Global counterparts.

In this role, you will have following key responsibilities:

  • Accountable for complete end to end (Raw Material to Finished Goods) manufacturing Supply Chain management of Bangalore (IVD production site)
  • In-depth understanding and experience in Supply Planning and Production Planning process.
  • Driving results thru team in a complex Matrix Organization.
  • Requires conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines (Quality, Production, Finance) to ensure meeting required operational deliverables.
  • Experience in managing IVD/Medtech supply Chain for Local and Export customers.
  • Establishes and maintains supply system as assigned to ensure uninterrupted supply of required materials.
  • Makes independent decisions with minimal guidance to support ongoing material supply and daily operations.
  • Ensuring, setting, and controlling Inventory levels necessary to support the operations while also meeting the Global Inventory targets.
  • Work collaboratively with supply chain and engineering stakeholders; develop supplier selection process for piece parts or outsourced assemblies and identify supply chain risks supporting sourcing decisions.
  • Actively engages with operations team and provides a high level of responsiveness and communication as it pertains to supply chain needs.
  • Drives Daily Management & Visual Management to ensure tracking of all daily tasks with the plant cross-functional teams.
  • Ensuring high level of compliances per the Local and Global Drug Regulation
  • Works closely with Global and Local Supply Chain leadership to report progress and on-time escalations where required.
  • Identify and work closely with teams to drive cost savings opportunities.
  • Closely monitor Inventory and E&O and report to management in weekly/monthly basis.
  • Effectively manage NC, Root Cause Analysis and CAPA as required to be part of the operations.
  • Training and mentoring team members ensuring skill enhancement to support growth.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor of Engineering with overall 15+ years' experience working in SCM functions and minimum 3 years leading SCM Ops at manufacturing Plant.
  • Or Master's degree with 12 years' experience working in SCM functions and minimum 3 years leading SCM Ops at manufacturing site.
  • Global and local stake holder management
  • Hands on knowledge on SAP
  • Experience working in Global MNC culture.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Experience setting up SCM best practices and processes.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Related experience in a diagnostic, medical device, or regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Agile, lifecycle management, and advanced database/Excel skills.
  • Valid US Visa
