Job Summary:

The Sales - Plant Room Retrofit role focuses on serving customers by ensuring the quality and timely completion of work. The Sales Engineer acts as the customers' advocate, addressing their concerns promptly and collaborating with internal teams to provide effective solutions. Building long-term customer relationships and delivering value in line with the company's goals are key aspects of this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact and representative for customers' plant room retrofit needs in the North Zone.
  • Strengthen customer loyalty through continuous support and assistance.
  • Manage a portfolio of non-Trane customers, identifying key accounts and developing strategies for growth in plant room retrofit.
  • Establish a strong market presence and cultivate relationships with HVAC industry suppliers.
  • Support procurement efforts by optimizing costs and ensuring adherence to company terms.
  • Identify options to meet customer requirements and collaborate with the Technical Support Team to deliver solutions.
  • Explore opportunities with existing service customers and update them on retrofit offerings.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating issues internally and presenting viable solutions.
  • Understand customer needs and market trends to develop pricing and selling strategies.
  • Review contract terms and present proposals to customers using standard templates.
  • Provide feedback on the marketplace, including competition insights and industry trends.
  • Perform any other relevant duties as required.

Key Competencies and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering OR Diploma in mechanical / electrical engineering with HVAC background.
  • Minimum of 8 years' direct sales experience, preferably in HVAC systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze engineering documents.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate innovative thinking and a willingness to explore new avenues.
  • Strong negotiation skills and techno-commercial knowledge in HVAC.
