Roles & Responsibilities:Hands-on data scientist or machine learning engineer responsible for ideating, designing, developing, modeling, and deploying advanced solutionsCollaborate with stakeholders to establish project objectives, form data-driven hypotheses, and define analysis KPIsCollect, preprocess, and explore large-scale structured and unstructured data from various sources, including clinical trials, patient records, and genetic dataApply advanced statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and predictive modeling techniques to extract insights and develop actionable solutionsPerform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, anomalies, and propose business problem resolutionsCreate and execute predictive models (e.g., regression, clustering, time series forecasting) to address complex challengesWork with data engineers and IT teams to ensure data quality, availability, and reliability for analysis and modelingCommunicate analytical findings and insights effectively to technical and nontechnical stakeholders using clear visualizations, reports, and presentationsKeep abreast of the latest statistical analysis, machine learning methodologies, and biopharma industry best practicesMentor junior data scientists, partake in knowledge sharing, and team development initiativesSkills and competencies:Proficiency in building and deploying data science and data engineering solutions using established industry methods (MLOps, Git) for pharmaceutical data preferredExperience with programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis, manipulation, and modelingFamiliarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib/seaborn for effective findings communicationStrong grasp of experimental design, hypothesis testing, and A/B testing methodologiesExcellent problem-solving skills and creative critical thinking for tackling complex business issuesEffective communication and presentation abilities to convey complex concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiencesKnowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) beneficialStrong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced settingExperience:A bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. in relevant fields like Data Science, Statistics, or Computer Science preferredProven track record (typically 2 to 5 years) in data science roles, especially in biopharma or pharmaceutical sectorsSolid background in statistical analysis, machine learning, and predictive modelingExperience handling and analyzing large-scale structured and unstructured data sets using SQL, NoSQL, or similar technologiesDemonstrated ability in building and implementing predictive models and machine learning algorithmsExperience with healthcare data, clinical trials, or related domains highly desirableUnderstanding of biopharma industry, regulatory requirements, and healthcare data sourcesFamiliarity with sourcing social media data from external sources
