The Opportunity

Abbott's Commercial Delivery Solutions organization, currently has an opportunity for an IT Program Manager, based in Mumbai, India. This role will lead the planning, execution, implementation, and overall delivery of key Commercial technology initiatives using and related applications for Abbott's Nutrition business in Europe, Middle East, and Pacific Asia.

The successful candidate in this position must be a trusted business partner and enabler, who demonstrates mastery in planning and managing all aspects and phases of large scale and complex application development and program management, vendor management, and deployment.

What you'll Work on

  • Works with Business and IT management to establish project goals, detailed plan, and business case. Helps set strategic IT direction.
  • Drive all aspects of project management including initiation, planning, execution, control, and closure. Manages project timelines, issues, escalations, and communications in a timely and accurate manner per defined governance model.
  • Create and manage scope and plans for large-scale, complex projects and/or multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Direct and coordinate cross-functional teams of internal and third-party resources, creating an environment that thrives on collaboration, open communication, and teamwork
  • Responsible for measuring project actual performance versus plan, project budget tracking, resource capacity planning, delivery vendor contract management and procurement.
  • Understands degree to which scope changes, issues and risks will affect projects working with division or senior/executive management and sponsor to gain agreement and make recommendation for resolution.
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships with divisional Business Relationship Managers and Business Stakeholders to ensure project success, manage demand and plan future needs.
  • Applies global mindset to understand business process, design and implement customer-focused solutions, and deliver solutions that meet the business need.
  • Lead assessments to analyze proposed projects, use sizing tools and methodologies to estimate scope, effort, and cost.
  • Author statements of work for vendor partners, obtains leadership approvals, and ensures suppliers deliver on commitments.
  • Champion change and innovation to improve delivery efficiency & effectiveness. Stimulates creativity and innovation in others. Open to new ideas. Promotes a Global Perspective.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, information systems or related discipline; Master's degree a plus.
  • Minimum 7 years' strong IT project management experience managing software delivery and deployment projects in a global, matrixed, and virtual organization.
  • Strong project leadership capabilities and proven ability to deliver.
  • High proficiency with all phases of software development life cycle and project implementation using Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid methodologies
  • Proficient communicator across all levels of the organization.
  • Must possess experience delivering through third party vendors.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and changing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Functional knowledge or experience implementing , including global deployment of capabilities in the following areas: Opportunity & Lead management, Sales, Service, Marketing, Inventory/Asset Management, and Trade Promotion, on both a and Lightning environment.
  • PMP or Agile Certification preferred.
  • Experience in health care or consumer goods industries.
  • Working with validated and/or regulated systems (e.g. GxP, PHI/PII, HIPAA)
  • 10 years total IT experience working within a large/complex IT organization or equivalent Abbott experience.
  • Proficiency with software delivery toolsets, including Microsoft Project, Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence), and Testing tools (HP ALM/Quality Center, Tricentis Q-Test).
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage by influence rather than positional authority.
  • Experience working with onshore/offshore model.
