The Finance department, which manages the company's budgets, forecasts and investments, and provides analysis of our financial performance and strategies.

Job overview and responsibilities

Primarily responsible for assisting Inventory and Fixed Assets Manager in ensuring that balances and transactions are accurately stated in both the General Ledger and Asset Sub-Ledgers through analysis and reconciliation. This position will work closely with the Technical Operations, Corporate Real Estate, FP&A, External Reporting and Business Divisions in managing the Inventory transactions, capital projects, and assets sub-ledgers.

Calculate and forecast depreciation and record related journal entries to the general ledger Journal entry preparation for inventory or fixed assets accountingReview inventory or fixed asset monthly activities, including monitoring and recording of asset acquisitions and dispositions, account/forecast variance explanations, and various other month-end responsibilitiesMaintenance of inventory or fixed assets subledgersAccount reconciliation preparation and reporting for various inventory or fixed assets accounts and activitiesMonth-end reporting schedules for inventory or fixed assets transactionsSpecial Projects related to Inventory Accounting and Fixed Assets Accounting or other areas within Corporate AccountingProvide support to other departments as necessary related to inventory or fixed assets accounting activitiesEnsure compliance with United's existing SOX and internal control processes, including responding to requests from internal and external audit

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.This position is for United Airlines Business Services Pvt. Ltd - a wholly owned subsidiary of United Airlines Inc.



Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's degree in AccountingMinimum 3 years of analytical work experience in accountingWell acquainted with financial statements and analysesProficiency with Microsoft Office products; highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, hlookups, etc)Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP accounting with particular emphasis in inventory and fixed assets accounting and reportingAbility to work cross-functionally and navigate organizational interdependenciesKnowledge of United's capitalization policies and ability to interpret the guidelines and apply policy to company related projectsCapability of working autonomously or collaboratively as part of a teamAbility to meet strict reporting deadlines and requirementsMust be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorshipMust be fluent in English and Hindi (written and spoken)Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationReliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred
