Full Stack Development professionals work on full stack development, handling end-to-end components of custom applications. They design and develop the UI, business logic, data & integration layer, and also take care of testing and maintenance of these layers.

SMA Backend Engineer – Product Technology - Job Description
As an SMA Backend Engineer reporting to the SMA Engineering Lead (Backend), you will be responsible for backend application design and development for all SMA applications under the product technology group. You will be part of a team supporting the building of core services for these applications. The role involves building applications on a scalable microservices-based architecture following industry best practices and aligning them with enterprise design frameworks.
Additional Responsibilities
- Implement processes for unit testing and code reviewing
- Integrate, deploy, maintain, and enhance software continuously
- Ensure the deliverables are of high quality through support in QA and business testing
- Drive innovation through coding best practices and Proof of Concepts
- Support the adoption of technology to increase market share and improve efficiency
- Develop scalable solutions for clients and business needs
- Contribute to modernizing platforms in line with the tech strategy
- Focus on building new applications for product launches, SMA platforms, and the Advisor portal
- Promote technology transformation and drive innovation across the organization
- Lead changes to enhance work processes and methodologies
- Prioritize and focus local and regional teams to support global engineering and delivery
Required Skills:
- Over 6 years of experience in building high-performance multi-threaded applications/microservices using Java/J2EE technologies
- Experience in Spring framework, Spring Boot, Rest Services, and API gateway
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL programming, NoSQL, and hands-on experience with OpenShift
- Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
- Experience with cloud providers and services such as AWS, IaaS, CloudFormation, etc.
- Exposure to enterprise architecture, solution architecture, cloud, and data engineering
- Proficient in Agile methodologies

- Strong ability to navigate large complex organizations
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field and exposure to various technologies
