Role : Product Manager Onion

Reporting To Product Head Vegetables

Location RCP, Mumbai

 

Purpose of the Role

 

  • Manage and drive the assigned Onion Products business for all the Formats by formulating and implementing strategy and operational plans to achieve the stated business objectives.                                                       
  • Be accountable for delivering budgeted sales and margins for Onion products alongside taking responsibility for cost control measures.
  • Ensure building of strategic relationship with farmers / vendors to achieve sustainable buying efficiency & sales growth.
  • Responsible for end-to-end sourcing activities across the geography. Appraise and improve sourcing activity by analyzing the spending, supplying partnerships.
  • Achieve AOP's planned Vols, Values and EBIDTA by making good quality products available at stores shelves at least procurement cost.
  • Developing and motivating the Field Buyer Team

 

Key Activities that are a part of the Role

 

  • Evaluating sourcing procedures and presenting improvement of sourcing strategies
  • Ensure Product availability round the clock for business continuity.
  • Establishment of backward linkages with respect to Onion, Area, Partner, processes, and logistics.
  • Identify New area and farmers & Consolidators.
  • Benchmarking with competitors for farm linkages, price, and quality from market information
  • Ensure seamless supply chain system from sourcing location to FFDCs.
  • Review overall spends and spend analysis reports for logistics.
  • Hold regular communication meetings with team to share organizational updates, functional priorities, performance updates, resolve issues, etc.
  • Motivate teams to improve productivity, drive engagement in the team, and build a culture of high performance.
  • Ensure fill rates- Line and Quantity Forecasting & Planning Process in association with the States.


Outcomes & KPIs:

 

  • % Increase in Farmers & Consolidators base to supply Onion across all the Formats.
  • % Delivering Buying Efficiency
  • % Increase in On-boarding of No. of New farmers and No. of FPOs to scale up the farm supply at CCs & National Level.
  • % Increase in Onion Volume Growth
  • % Increase in Interstate Movement.
  • % Increase in Direct Sourcing share.
  • Delivery Price Vs Destination Price of National Product Ensuring Delivered prices is at least 5% cheaper compared to local WS market in Destination market for the comparative quality.
  • % Increase in New Sourcing locations added during the year

Special initiative/Projects (E.g., Freshness Improvement, Shelf-Life Enhancement, Packaging development, new product development etc.)
