Semifive India Design centre, headquartered in Bangalore, is our rapidly growing capability centre that plays a pivotal role in delivering complex SoC programs for global customers. The India team is at the forefront of RTL design, verification, and IP creation, working closely with worldwide teams to bring turnkey silicon solutions to production.
Key Responsibilities
- First DFT leadership hire in Semifive India.
Leadership & Program Ownership
- Lead and scale the DFT organization in India
- Own execution for multiple SoC programs (3–4 concurrently) spanning Turnkey, Platform, and Customer-specific ASICs.
- Drive planning, execution, and delivery across front-end to signoff, ensuring predictable schedule and quality metrics.
Execution & Technical Ownership
- Define and own the SoC-level DFT architecture (Scan, MBIST, JTAG/TAP, BISR, Compression, Boundary Scan, LBIST).
- Perform DFT RTL integration, Spyglass DFT checks, Scan insertion, ATPG generation, and pattern simulation/debug.
- Implement and verify Memory BIST (MBIST) and repair schemes, including fuse and redundancy support.
- Drive DFT verification methodology to ensure first-time-right silicon.
- Collaborate with physical design and timing closure teams to ensure DFT-friendly implementation.
- Work with ATE and manufacturing engineering teams on test vector delivery, silicon bring-up, yield improvement, and post-silicon debug.
- Lead customer engagements by representing Semifive in technical discussions, ensuring seamless integration of DFT methodologies in turnkey projects.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers in DFT methodology, best practices, and project execution.
- Provide sign-off accountability for DFT across multiple SoC tapeouts.
Customer & Cross-site Collaboration
- Act as a technical and program interface with customer engineering teams across Europe, US, and India.
- Represent Semifive India in customer design reviews, milestone tracking, and technical discussions.
- Work closely with global Program Management, Design, and Foundry interface teams to ensure successful execution of Turnkey programs.
People & Process Development
- Build, mentor, and grow a high-calibre physical design team with strong technical and leadership depth.
- Establish best-in-class methodology, flow, and automation for predictable and scalable execution.
- Drive a culture of quality, ownership, and continuous improvement in all aspects of design delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Electrical/Computer Engineering with 15+ years of experience or Master’s with 12+ years in DFT design and verification.
- Proven track record of executing at least 3 full-chip SoC DFT implementations from architecture through silicon bring-up.
- Strong expertise in ATPG, Scan insertion, MBIST/BISR, JTAG, boundary scan, and compression techniques.
- Familiarity with Spyglass DFT, Tessent, Synopsys DFTMAX, or equivalent toolchains.
- Experience in working with manufacturing engineering, ATE teams, and post-silicon validation/debug.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to interface with cross-functional and customer teams.
