Our team of experts partners with portfolio company leadership and investors to transform legacy accounting functions into the storyteller and strategic driver for their businesses.Position Description: The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of some combination of recent experience in: 1.) industry accounting department (i.e. staff accountant, senior accountant, accounting manager); and 2.) public accounting audit practice. Experience with transaction-related accounting at a private equity portfolio company and in audit is preferred.In this role, you will deliver expert accounting and financial support to buy-side clients, assisting in the enhancement of the finance function for acquired entities, including preparation of opening balance sheet and final closing statement, converting to accrual accounting, and preparing for the first-year audit. You will also offer sell-side preparation accounting and finance advisory services to companies.Responsibilities:Provide timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectationsAddress and rectify financial information gaps by implementing robust accounting processes, policies, and procedures to ensure the generation of accurate financial dataAssist with preparation of opening balance sheets and post-close purchase price adjustmentsAssist with conversion to accrual basis accounting and month-end close processes to support going forwardDevelop an understanding of the client's business and recognize key performance drivers, trends and developments and identify performance improvement opportunities and recommend creative solutions to complex issues and broaden our business relationships where possibleEnsure all deliverables are completed on time and meet the firm’s quality standardsRequirements:Minimum 2+ years in total of public accounting and / or operational accounting experience. Bachelor’s/ Master’s in accounting or finance degree from an accredited college/university.Chartered Accountant (CA) Certification ideal, but not required. It will be required for a future, potential promotion to manager.High level comprehension of accounting principles coupled with ability to effectively communicate.Experience with purchase / transaction accounting, ideally has prepared or audited multiple opening balance sheets.Forward-thinking, interested in intersection of finance and technology – experience with applications and tools including but not limited to Microsoft Excel and Copilot.Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.Effective time management skills.Working Environment While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is expected to work in our office. Flexibility is granted to employees to work remotely on an as-needed basis. Expected Billable Hours of Work Regular expected billable hours shall be up to 40 hours per week. However, you may be required to work additional hours and/or days as and when necessary to properly and effectively perform your duties and responsibilities.
