GoHighLevel Developer
Vids Agency is partnering with a rapidly scaling agency that's pushing GoHighLevel beyond what most thought possible.
Our client isn't using GHL like everyone else—they're building custom solutions that turn the platform into a competitive advantage. While others are using basic funnels and automation, they're creating systems that handle thousands of leads, complex workflows, and integrations that make their agency operations run like clockwork.
Now they need a developer who sees GHL not as a limitation, but as a foundation to build something extraordinary.
The Reality of This Role
Most "GHL experts" know how to set up a funnel and connect some automations. That's not what this is. Our client needs someone who can architect solutions that make GHL do things it wasn't designed to do—integrating with external APIs, building custom code functions, creating workflows that handle edge cases at scale.
You'll be the technical force behind an agency that's growing fast and refuses to accept "that's not possible in GHL" as an answer.
What You'll Actually Build:
Advanced GHL Architecture
- Design and implement complex automation workflows that handle thousands of contacts without breaking
- Build custom integrations between GHL and external platforms using webhooks, APIs, and custom code
- Create scalable templates and snapshots that can be deployed across hundreds of client accounts
- Develop solutions that turn GHL's limitations into features through creative problem-solving
Custom Development Within GHL
- Write custom JavaScript for forms, funnels, and tracking that goes beyond standard functionality
- Build HTML/CSS solutions that make GHL sites look like $50K custom builds
- Create custom code blocks that solve specific business logic challenges
- Develop API connections that sync GHL with tools it was never meant to talk to
Systems That Scale
- Architect solutions that work for 10 clients and still work for 1,000
- Build error handling and fallbacks that prevent cascading failures
- Create documentation that lets non-developers understand and maintain your systems
- Design workflows that can handle edge cases without constant manual intervention
Technical Problem Solving
- Debug complex automation chains where one broken link affects dozens of workflows
- Optimize system performance when GHL starts hitting its limits
- Find creative workarounds for platform limitations without compromising reliability
- Build testing protocols that catch issues before they hit production
Who You Are:
- You've pushed GHL beyond its comfort zone and made it do things that impressed even you
- You have real development experience—front-end, back-end, or both—not just page builder skills
- You see a platform limitation as a puzzle to solve, not a roadblock
- You write clean, documented code that others can actually understand and modify
- You own problems until they're solved, not just until your shift ends
- You notice when a webhook fails 1 time out of 1,000 and it bothers you until it's fixed
- Work US Time Zone is a must.
Technical Skills That Matter:
- Deep understanding of GHL's API, webhooks, and custom code capabilities
- JavaScript proficiency for custom functions and advanced tracking
- HTML/CSS skills that can make GHL look like a custom platform
- Experience with REST APIs and third-party integrations
- Understanding of automation logic and error handling at scale
- Bonus: Experience with Zapier, Make, or custom API development
What's Different About This Role:
- You're not just implementing—you're architecting solutions that define how the agency operates
- Direct impact on the agency's ability to scale and serve clients
- Freedom to explore creative technical solutions without bureaucratic approval chains
- Work with a team that values elegant solutions over quick hacks
- Build systems that actually matter to business outcomes
What Success Looks Like:
- Month 1: You've audited existing systems and identified 10+ improvements
- Month 3: You've built at least one solution that makes the team say "I didn't know GHL could do that"
- Month 6: You've created systems that reduced manual work by 50% while improving reliability
- Month 12: You're the person other GHL developers ask for advice
The Non-Negotiables:
This isn't a role where you can google "how to connect GHL to [tool]" and follow a tutorial. You need to be someone who reads API documentation for fun, who gets excited about webhook payloads, and who sees a messy automation workflow as a chance to build something beautiful.
If you think GHL is just a simple CRM with some automation features, this isn't for you. But if you see it as a powerful platform waiting for someone clever enough to unlock its potential, let's talk.
