About the Organization

Our mission is to create talent solutions towards critical areas of climate action at the managerial and workforce level. The approach involves identifying bottlenecks and then designing and piloting new solutions through pooled funding, career pathways and development, incubators and more.

The organization has kickstarted a new Global Initiative. The initiative acts as a collaborative pooled fund that seeks to invest in catalytic solutions that can help develop and scale the renewable energy workforce in emerging markets and developing economies.

The organization and the initiative is supported by a Strategic and Advisory Council with stalwarts from EdelGive Foundation, Sequoia Climate Foundation, Growald Climate Fund, Hewlett Foundation to name just a few.

About the Role

This is a critical hire for an innovative, new and fast growing organization with a global mandate and footprint. The new Initiative is in the pilot stage, however is intended to grow at a global scale and the role will have scope for global positioning and growth, eventually.

Primarily, the role involves identifying high-impact investment opportunities, managing a diverse portfolio and collaborating with global teams to drive catalytic change in the renewable energy sector.

Your Day to Day -

  • Investment Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement grantmaking strategies that align with our mission and our strategy to scale renewable energy workforce development.
  • Portfolio Management and Growth: Oversee and develop a diverse portfolio of grants and investments, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and monitoring performance metrics.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain effective working relationships with grantees, partners, renewable energy companies, relevant public sector agencies, philanthropists and other stakeholders in the renewable energy and climate sector.
  • Organize workshops and convenings to align funders and key stakeholders on strategy and core program focus areas
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough analyses of market trends, policy developments and emerging technologies in renewable energy and climate change and use this information to drive grantmaking and the overall strategy.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with global teams to share insights, coordinate strategies, and contribute to the organization's overall impact.

What makes you an ideal fit?

  • Close to 10 years of professional experience in renewable energy, climate finance, impact investing, nonprofit management, philanthropic fund management or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of the renewable energy landscape in India, including policy frameworks, market dynamics, and key stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing philanthropic funds or impact investment portfolios, with a track record of successful project execution.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in additional Indian languages is a plus.
  • Experience working in international teams or with global partners
  • A Bachelors degree, ideally but not necessarily in a relevant field such as Environmental Science, Finance, International Relations, Public Policy
