Role Overview

We are looking for a highly strategic and experienced Senior Manager – Social Media to drive our social media vision,

lead teams, and scale engagement, brand awareness, and community advocacy across all social platforms. This role

isn’t just about execution — you’ll be expected to lead thinking, mentor others, make data-driven decisions, and

collaborate at senior stakeholder levels to align social strategy with broader business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Below are the responsibilities, upgraded to reflect senior-level expectations:

1. Strategic Leadership & Planning

o Define and evolve the long-term social media strategy in line with overarching brand, product, and

business goals.

o Set ambitious but realistic targets (KPIs) in areas like reach, engagement, follower growth,

sentiment, and conversion.

o Stay ahead of digital and social trends, competitor moves, platform changes, and emerging tools -advise which to adopt or pilot.

2. Team Leadership & Development

o Lead and mentor a team of social media managers / content creators / community leads.

o Define roles, responsibilities, and performance objectives for the team; ensure ongoing training

and career growth.

o Provide guidance on best practices for content quality, voice & tone, creative storytelling, etc.

3. Content Strategy & Execution Oversight

o Oversee content calendar planning and ensure content is planned well in advance and aligns to

campaigns, product launches, seasonal trends.

o Ensure a mix of content types — evergreen, live, filler/timely, video, short-form, long-form, etc.

o Ensure brand consistency — voice, messaging, visual identity — across all social channels.

o Coordinate with creative, video, design teams (or agencies) to ensure high production quality.

4. Community & Brand Advocacy

o Build strategies to convert followers into active community members / brand advocates.

o Monitor brand sentiment and conversations in real time. Escalate or respond appropriately to

negative feedback.

o Design and run influencer / creator collaborations that meaningfully extend reach and credibility.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

o Partner with Product, PR, Marketing, Creative, D2C, Customer-Support teams to ensure social

media supports campaigns, launches, and customer journeys.

o Ensure that social media inputs are part of wider go-to-market plans (launches, promos, events).

6. Analytics, Reporting, & Optimization

o Define, track, and report on key metrics (reach, engagement, conversion, sentiment, ROI, etc.).

o Use data to drive strategy iterations- spot what’s working and what’s not; suggest improvements.

o Forecast performance; manage social media budgets; allocate resources (paid vs organic)

optimally.

7. Governance & Process Management

o Define social media policies, brand guidelines, voice/tone guides.

o Establish approval workflows, crisis-response protocols, content schedules.

o Ensure compliance (legal, brand, regulatory) in posts/public content where necessary.


Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or related field. An MBA or equivalent is a plus.

• 5-10+ years’ experience in social media / digital marketing roles, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership/senior management position

• Strong proven track record of setting strategy and delivering on KPIs (reach, engagement, conversion, growth).

• Deep knowledge of social media platform dynamics, trends, content formats (video, short form, live, stories, etc.).

• Experience with influencer / creator partnerships.

• Excellent writing, editing, communication skills; strong creative judgment.

• Strong analytical skills — able to interpret metrics and translate into insights / actions.

• Comfortable working across teams, managing multiple stakeholders, and operating in a fast-paced environment.

• Familiarity with social media management and analytics tool
