Role Title: Software Engineering Associate Advisor

Position Summary:

  • Develop software solutions for one of the Evernorth Virtual Care Delivery teams. This individual will be working on several of the largest Technology initiatives for Evernorth targeted at revolutionizing Health Services and Healthcare Delivery systems in the United States. The focus of the work is to continue to enhance Evernorths market winning capabilities in Virtual Care. The Technology strategy is completely aligned to our business strategy and the candidate will be able to influence technology\business direction within a world class Delivery Vertical. The solution focuses on enabling this change using the latest technologies and development techniques.
  • The candidate will play a key role in developing iOS applications for MDLIVE. They collaborate with business and technology partners in gathering requirements, develop and implement. The individual must have strong analytical and technical skills coupled with the ability to positively influence the delivery of data engineering products.
  • The applicant will be working in a team that demands innovation, cloud-first, self-service-first, and automation-first mindset coupled with technical excellence.
  • The applicant will be working with internal and external stakeholders and customers for building solutions as part of MDLIVE and will need to demonstrate very strong technical and communication skills.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test and maintain software solutions.
  • Perform troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Develop engineering solutions in alignment with the Technology strategy and meeting applications requirements as well as industry standard best practices.
  • Maximize the efficiency (operational, performance, and cost) of the application assets.
  • Sizes User Stories based on time / difficulty to complete.
  • Provides input on specific challenges facing User Stories.
  • Discuss risks, dependencies, and assumptions.
  • Determine if User Stories meet the Definition of Ready
  • Selects User Stories to be completed in the Iteration, based on User Story priority and team capacity and velocity.
  • Breaks User Stories into tasks.
  • Participates in the confidence vote.
  • Participate in the daily stand up

Experience Required:

  • More than 8 years of experience in software engineering, building iOS applications utilizing Swift or Objective-C
  • More than 5 years of experience developing or working with REST API applications

Experience Desired:

  • Expertise in Agile software development principles and patterns
  • Expertise in building streaming, batch and event-driven architectures and data pipelines

Primary Skills:

  • Working experience with following technologies Swift, Objective-C, iOS development, Ruby/Ruby on Rails, MySQL, Databricks, any No-SQL databases.
  • Strong analytical skills to challenge design recommendations
  • Proven experience delivering software solutions.
  • Familiarity with agile methodology including SCRUM team.
  • Familiarity with modern delivery practices such as continuous integration, behavior/test driven development, and specification by example.
  • Proven experience with architecture, design, and development of large-scale enterprise application solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal/relationship management skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • 8-11 Years Experience in IT
  • College degree (Bachelor) in related technical/business areas or equivalent work experience.

Additional Skills:

  • Experience developing iOS applications in Objective-C and Swift
  • Industry standards for Error handling
  • Familiarity with Medical Data
