Position Overview

The Head of Engineering will provide strategic and operational leadership for all engineering functions within the plant, ensuring reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement across production, packaging, utilities, and infrastructure systems. The role is accountable for driving engineering excellence, optimizing asset performance, and leading capital and technology initiatives aligned with business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

1. Engineering Operations & Maintenance

  • Lead preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance for production and packaging equipment such as FBD, RMG, Compression, Coating, Blister, Capsule Filling, and Serialization lines.
  • Ensure minimal downtime and maximum equipment reliability through effective maintenance planning and execution.
  • Establish and monitor key engineering performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational efficiency.

2. Utilities & HVAC Management

  • Oversee uninterrupted operations of utilities and HVAC systems, including Water System, Chillers, Air Handling Units (AHU), Compressors, Cooling Towers, Generators, and Transformers.
  • Ensure system reliability, energy optimization, and compliance with environmental and safety standards.

3. Quality & Compliance Management (QMS)

  • Manage and ensure compliance with QMS requirements including Change Controls, Deviations, CAPA, and audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with QA and Regulatory teams to maintain a state of compliance with cGMP, GEP, and statutory requirements.

4. Capital Projects & Infrastructure Development

  • Lead planning, execution, and commissioning of new projects, expansions, and equipment installations.
  • Oversee project budgets, timelines, vendor management, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure proper qualification and validation of all new installations and systems.

5. Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and innovation.
  • Identify skill gaps and implement training programs to enhance team capability.
  • Drive collaboration across departments to ensure seamless plant operations.

6. Cost Optimization & Continuous Improvement

  • Implement energy conservation, automation, and process improvement initiatives to achieve cost savings and operational excellence.
  • Develop and monitor the engineering budget, ensuring effective utilization of resources.
