Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Fresher Chartered Accountant to join our US Tax and Accounting team. The role involves assisting in preparation of US tax returns, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and compliance for US-based clients.

Key Responsibilities

US Accounting

  • Maintain books of accounts for US clients using QuickBooks / Xero / NetSuite
  • Record journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities
  • Prepare financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow)
  • Assist with GAAP-based accounting and reporting
  • Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations

US Taxation

  • Assist in preparation of US federal and state tax returns:
  • Individual (Form 1040)
  • Business (Forms 1065, 1120, 1120S)
  • Support in preparation of sales tax, payroll tax, and information returns
  • Work on tax extensions, estimates, and compliance deadlines
  • Perform basic tax research under supervision

Other Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with onshore US clients and internal teams
  • Ensure compliance with timelines and quality standards
  • Maintain proper documentation and workpapers
  • Learn and adapt to US tax laws and accounting standards

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals
  • Basic knowledge of US GAAP and US taxation (training will be provided)
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Willingness to work in US shift timings if required

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to US accounting or tax during articleship
  • Knowledge of accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero)
  • Interest in pursuing CPA / EA
