Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled BigQuery and Database Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and optimizing databases, with a specific focus on Google BigQuery. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our data infrastructure to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities :

BigQuery Management :

- Design and implement BigQuery data warehouses, data lakes, and data marts.

- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading into BigQuery.

- Monitor and manage BigQuery usage, cost, and performance.

- Implement data partitioning, clustering, and optimization strategies to improve query performance.

- Ensure data quality and consistency across different data sources.

Database Management :

- Design, implement, and maintain relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).

- Develop and maintain database schemas, tables, views, and indexes.

- Monitor and tune database performance, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

- Implement data backup, recovery, and security measures.

- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.

Data Integration and ETL :

- Design and implement ETL processes to integrate data from various sources into BigQuery and other databases.

- Develop data pipelines using tools such as Apache Airflow, Dataflow, or custom scripts.

- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide data solutions.

Data Governance and Compliance :

- Ensure compliance with data governance policies, standards, and best practices.

- Implement data security measures to protect sensitive data and comply with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

- Document data architecture, processes, and procedures.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

- Proven experience as a Database Engineer, Data Engineer, or similar role.

- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with Google BigQuery.

- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).

- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data modeling.

- Familiarity with data integration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Dataflow) and programming languages (e.g., Python, Java).

- Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with cloud-based data warehouses Knowledge of machine learning and data analytics tools (e.g., BigQuery ML).

- Understanding of data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker).
