Financial Analyst – Job Description

Position Summary

The Financial Analyst is responsible for analyzing financial data, creating reports, forecasting trends, and supporting business decision-making. This role works closely with finance, accounting, and leadership teams to ensure accurate budgeting, planning, and financial performance tracking.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze financial statements, cash flow, and performance metrics.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Monitor key financial indicators and provide insights to management.

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in developing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Track budget variances and provide explanations for deviations.
  • Support scenario planning and financial modeling.

3. Data Modeling & Insights

  • Build and maintain financial models (Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Interpret data trends and provide recommendations for business improvement.
  • Conduct cost-benefit and ROI analyses.

4. Business Support

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial inputs.
  • Provide analytical support for strategic initiatives, investments, and projects.
  • Review financial performance of departments and products.

5. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure financial practices comply with GAAP and company policies.
  • Prepare documentation for audits and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros preferred).
  • Experience with financial modeling and forecasting.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and BI tools.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
