Principal Engineer

Position Responsibilities:

  • Design, Build, Integrate, and Maintain a highly scalable digital platform consisting of a multitude of data products and services.
  • Show Leadership, Initiative and Skill at identifying bottlenecks through profiling, metrics and solutioning for low latency processing and services.
  • Operate with minimal/no supervision. Mentor less experienced developers through teaching and demonstration.
  • Provide technical leadership to team(s) of junior staff and majority of the time to be spent on hands-on implementation of complex work.
  • Be seen as an expert within the technical components of the domains/products/pipelines/ integrations.
  • Perform reviews (design, code and quality) to drive improvements in product and develop team members.
  • Work with Architecture group and make architecture decisions/recommendations at a team level.
  • Technical lead for problems in the geospatial space.
  • Observe tech trend and make recommendations. Proactively drive continuous improvements.
  • Participate in roadmap/runway discussions with Business Stakeholders/Product Management and provide inputs.
  • Drive planning and demos events.
  • Drive Production SLA.
  • Mentor others on areas of expertise / experience

Requirements:

  • Experience of building enterprise applications and digital products.
  • 12+ years of experience.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, bring your own ideas to software design and development.
  • Someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, capable of conversing with international team members.
  • A team player with a willingness to lend a hand with any aspect of the Companys activity in addition to the core task of software development.
