Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Investment Professional to support and lead investment transactions and advisory mandates in climate and health-related sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial modeling, valuation, M&A or principal investing, and a deep understanding of capital raising, due diligence, and transaction structuring in emerging markets.

This is a hands-on, execution-focused role that will require direct involvement in deal sourcing, due diligence, financial structuring, and investor engagement. Candidates must demonstrate a proven record of delivering complex financial models, closing transactions, and supporting fundraising from institutional, strategic, and venture investors.

There will be at least two positions available through this interview process. We welcome candidates with both financial and operational backgrounds and value deep sector expertise, particularly in renewable energy, digital infrastructure, and agri-value chains.

Key Responsibilities

1. Transaction Execution and Structuring

• Conduct detailed financial due diligence and build, audit, and refine complex financial models for equity, debt, and blended finance transactions.
• Lead financial structuring for transactions including project finance, growth equity, and M&A, ensuring robust valuation, risk allocation, and returns analysis.
• Prepare investment memoranda, teasers, and transaction documents for investors and boards.
• Translate technical and operational inputs into investor-grade models and materials that clearly articulate value drivers, sensitivities, and capital structure implications.
• Prepare transaction benchmarking analyses, precedent deal studies, and valuation comparables across public and private markets.
• Ensure financial structures reflect sound governance, risk management, and long-term value creation principles.
• Track and report on transaction performance and pipeline activity, maintaining detailed investment files and analytical outputs.

2. Investor Engagement and Fundraising

• Evaluate and execute fundraising strategies for companies and projects, including sourcing and engaging with investors, negotiating terms, and supporting deal closure.
• Work with founders and management teams to optimize capital structures, prepare datarooms, and respond to investor due diligence queries.
• Support the design and execution of transactions involving strategic investors, venture funds, family offices, and development finance institutions.
• Manage relationships with clients, investors, lenders, and co-advisors across the full deal lifecycle.

3. Financial Analysis and Modeling

• Conduct market, sector, and regulatory analysis across assigned industries and geographies to identify emerging investment opportunities.
• Integrate environmental and social performance indicators into investment analysis when relevant.

4. Client Advisory and Portfolio Support

• Assess investment readiness and advise startups, corporates, and project developers on improving bankability.
• Provide hands-on guidance on capital stack design, term sheet structuring, and transaction sequencing to prepare deals for institutional capital.

5. Leadership and Knowledge Development

• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to developing best-in-class financial models, valuation frameworks, and investment toolkits.

Qualifications and Experience

A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related quantitative discipline is required.

Technical Competencies

• Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills (DCF, LBO, project finance, and scenario analysis).
• Proven ability to structure and close complex investment transactions.
• Deep understanding of capital markets, corporate finance, and investor dynamics.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases such as PitchBook or Refinitiv.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple live transactions simultaneously under tight timelines.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and manage diverse workstreams across time zones.
• Prior experience preparing investment cases and closing deals in private equity, venture capital, corporate M&A, or project finance settings.
• Track record of delivering tangible outcomes such as capital raised, transactions executed, or portfolios restructured.
• High comfort level with technical and engineering concepts in sectors such as renewables, mobility, industrial decarbonization, healthcare, or infrastructure.

Professional Experience

• 7-12 years of relevant experience in investment banking, operational roles, private equity, venture capital, project finance, or related fields. Candidates must show concrete evidence of leading financial modeling and transaction execution processes from origination to close and of raising capital or advising on deals exceeding USD 5million in aggregate value.
• Experience working on buy-side or sell-side M&A, structured debt transactions, or equity fundraising for growth companies will be highly valued. Candidates with an engineering or technical background who have transitioned into finance or investing are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Deep expertise in renewable energy, digital infrastructure, or agri-value chains is essential.

Language Skills

Fluency in English is essential. Fluency in another language is desirable.

Recruitment Process

The first round of interviews will be virtual. Shortlisted candidates will then be invited for in-person meetings in select locations in India during the week of October 27. The process includes a technical case study focused on financial modeling and investment analysis to assess transaction execution skills.
