Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager – Lending with strong domain expertise across Retail Lending, SME/MSME Lending, Commercial/Corporate Lending, Mortgage, and Supply Chain Finance.

The ideal candidate will be a lending product specialist who understands end-to-end loan lifecycle processes, can drive digital lending product strategy, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver innovative lending capabilities for global clients.

You will play a critical role in shaping the lending product roadmap, driving feature innovation, engaging with lenders, and ensuring successful product implementations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Strategy & Roadmap

• Define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for digital lending across retail, SME, and corporate segments.
• Identify lending industry trends, credit policy evolution, regulatory requirements, and competitive insights to guide product enhancements.
• Prioritize features based on customer value, risk impact, compliance need, and commercial viability.

2. Requirements & Design

• Translate market and client needs into detailed product requirements, epics, and user stories.
• Partner with UX to design intuitive lending journeys across onboarding, KYC, origination, underwriting, servicing, and collections.
• Conduct detailed gap analysis between lender requirements and platform capabilities.

3. Cross-Functional Leadership

• Collaborate with engineering, QA, credit policy SMEs, and delivery teams for smooth execution.
• Lead backlog grooming, sprint planning, and release governance for lending modules.
• Act as the functional SME for lending workflows through the development lifecycle.

4. Client & Market Engagement

• Engage directly with global lending clients (banks, NBFCs, fintechs) to gather requirements and validate product features.
• Support RFP responses, pre-sales discussions, product demos, and POCs.
• Work with delivery teams to resolve functional issues during SIT, UAT, and go-live phases.

5. Domain Expertise

Provide deep product and domain expertise across:

• Retail Loans (PL, BL, Auto, Home, Gold, etc.)
• SME/MSME Lending & Commercial Lending
• Trade & Supply Chain Finance
• Mortgage & Secured Lending
• Credit Scoring, Underwriting, Risk Models
• KYC/AML & regulatory compliance
• Loan servicing, restructuring, collections

6. Product Governance & Documentation

• Own and maintain BRDs, FSDs, feature documents, decision logs, and release notes.
• Define and track product metrics related to credit decisioning efficiency, TAT, adoption, and portfolio performance.

Required Skills & Competencies

Functional & Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of digital lending platforms and end-to-end loan lifecycle workflows.
• Hands-on experience with retail, SME, and corporate lending products.
• Expertise in credit underwriting, risk decisioning, LOS/LMS processes, KYC/AML workflows, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum using tools like JIRA and Confluence; wireframing tools (Figma) preferred.
• Familiarity with integrations for credit bureaus, KYC/AML systems, scoring engines, fraud tools, and core banking systems.

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
• Ability to influence decisions and manage senior stakeholders across business, risk, and technology.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional teams in dynamic environments.
• Customer-first mindset with focus on product usability and business outcomes.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Computer Science, or related field.
• MBA or equivalent postgraduate degree preferred.

Certifications Preferred

• AIPMM / CPM / PMC
• Lending or Credit Risk certifications (optional but a plus)
