A day in the life:
As Technology Manager, you are a leader responsible for Retail Analytics Engineering team with accountability for software development scoped to business-transformative projects by being involved in programs from inception through implementation.

You are a leader who is comfortable leading and managing team members with different skill sets and can communicate expectations clearly to all team members. In addition to strong management skills, you act as a leader for the technical roadmap for your team and can communicate timeline, scope and risks to partners and stakeholders, and lead the delivery of major initiatives.

This role requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to identify and eliminate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate, and make tradeoffs and balance business needs versus technical constraints.

Maturity, curiosity, creative problem solving, and team leadership are all essential for success in this role.

You also bring your experience, ideas, and initiatives to influence and drive change to support our growth and scaling.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Leading a team of Engineers, Analysts, Tech program Managers, business stakeholders and software vendors across multiple work streams simultaneously.
  • Managing people, processes and timeline to ensure that high quality deliverables are produced.
  • Ensuring the right skills are being used to solve the right problems by supporting the team with empathetic coaching, skills development, and career path leadership.
  • Ensuring team produces software that meets business and technology requirements which is resilient, monitorable, performant and maintainable.
  • Leading resolution of production support incidents in accordance with incident management policies and procedures and ensures that applications changes follow change management policies and procedures.
  • Stay abreast of latest technology and industry trends.
  • Champion and enforces software development and operational support processes
  • Driving alignment by building effective partnership with stakeholders across global markets
  • Being a role model and lead awareness and training for your team in our IDEA program - Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Action.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in technology management, with hands-on expertise in cloud platforms, data warehousing, data visualization, and project management. Proven track record of leading technology teams and projects.
  • Strong communication skills, team management and ability to build relationships acrosscross-functional teams
  • Digital expertise and experience Develop and manage the technology cycle of strategic planning and delivery of customer value
  • Core understanding of mobile technologies and software development
  • 2 or more years of experience managing remote teams
  • Nice to have first level scrum training (Certified Scrum Master)/ Sage agile
  • Demonstrated experience of instilling a continuous improvement culture
  • Nice to have tech Skills: MS Azure/ AWS, DWH Snowflake/Mongo DB, Visualisation - Power BI, QA, ETL

  • Cloud Technology Expertise: Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure, including architecture design, deployment, monitoring, and optimization of cloud-based services. Ability to lead cloud migration and optimization projects.
  • Data Warehousing: Deep understanding of Snowflake or similar data warehousing platforms, with the ability to manage, optimize, and troubleshoot data pipelines and large datasets. Strong ETL management experience is crucial.
  • Data Visualization & Analytics: Proficiency in Power BI, with experience building complex, dynamic dashboards and reports. Ability to drive insights from data and provide actionable recommendations to business stakeholders.
  • Project & Program Management: Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale projects end-to-end, from planning to execution, while managing risk, scope, timelines, and resources. Proficiency in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies is expected.
  • Leadership & Team Management: Proven experience in leading and mentoring technical teams, fostering innovation, and ensuring the development of best practices. Ability to build and grow high-performance teams.

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Quality Assurance & Governance: Experience implementing and overseeing quality assurance frameworks, ensuring that all technology initiatives meet business and technical requirements.
  • ETL Development & Integration: Advanced knowledge of ETL processes, tools, and technologies, with hands-on experience in managing complex data integration projects.
  • Business Acumen & Strategic Thinking: Strong understanding of how technology solutions can enhance business strategies, particularly in retail or e-commerce settings. Ability to work closely with senior leadership to drive technology initiatives that align with business goals.
  • Stakeholder Management & Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, managing expectations and driving collaboration.
  • Change Management & Global Exposure: Experience in leading technology-driven change initiatives, along with working with global teams across multiple time zones and cultural settings.
