Our platform enables seamless, secure, and compliant partnerships between banks and fintechs through automated assessments, risk indicator monitoring, and trust network infrastructure.The opportunityWe are seeking an experienced Assessment Lead to build and manage our human-based assessment operations in India. This role is critical to scaling Invela's accreditation services, combining human expertise with our AI-powered platform to deliver comprehensive third-party risk assessments for our banking and fintech clients globally.Key responsibilitiesAssessment operations leadershipLead and scale the India-based assessment team responsible for conducting third-party risk management (TPRM) questionnaire reviews and accreditation assessmentsDevelop and implement standardized assessment methodologies, quality control processes, and SLAs for human-based reviewsManage end-to-end assessment workflows including document review, evidence validation, risk scoring, and report generationCollaborate with the AI/ML team to optimize human-in-the-loop processes and improve assessment automationRisk assessment & complianceOversee assessment of fintech companies against regulatory frameworks including CFPB Rule 1033, FDX standards, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and banking compliance requirementsReview and validate security policies, financial statements, business continuity plans, and other accreditation documentationIdentify risk indicators and provide expert judgment on complex assessment scenariosStay current with evolving open banking regulations, data protection laws, and industry security standardsTeam building & stakeholder managementRecruit, train, and mentor assessment analysts with expertise in information security, compliance, and risk managementEstablish performance metrics and quality assurance frameworks for the assessment teamServe as the primary point of contact for India operations, coordinating with US-based leadership and global clientsBuild relationships with fintech companies undergoing accreditation, providing guidance on assessment requirementsRequirements8+ years of experience in information security, risk management, compliance, or governance roles within financial services or fintechDemonstrated expertise in third-party risk management (TPRM), vendor assessments, or security auditsStrong understanding of open banking/open finance ecosystems, APIs, and data sharing frameworksExperience with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, or banking regulatory requirementsProven track record of building and leading teams in India, preferably within Global Capability Centers (GCC) or fintech environmentsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to interface with global stakeholdersBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Finance, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferredPreferred qualificationsProfessional certifications: CISA, CRISC, CISSP, CISM, or equivalentExperience with Account Aggregator framework in India or FDX standards in the USBackground working with major banks, NBFCs, or payment companies on risk assessmentsFamiliarity with AI/ML technologies and automation in risk management processesExperience scaling operations from early-stage to mature delivery modelsWhat we offerOpportunity to build and lead a critical function in a high-growth fintech startupWork at the intersection of AI, open banking, and risk management—shaping the future of financial servicesCompetitive compensation package with equity participationFlexible work arrangements (remote/hybrid options)Direct collaboration with US-based leadership and exposure to global financial institutionsProfessional development and certification supportHow to applyInterested candidates should submit their resume and a brief cover letter outlining their relevant experience in TPRM, information security, and team leadership.
