Job Summary :

The Senior System Administrator will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and reliable operation of the company's IT systems.

This role requires a deep understanding of system and network management, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in managing complex IT environments and a proactive approach to system maintenance and optimization.

Key Responsibilities :

System Management :

- Manage and maintain Windows and Linux server environments.

- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, servers, and applications.

- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and performance.

- Perform regular system backups and verify that backups are functioning correctly.

- Apply OS patches and upgrades regularly and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.

Network Administration :

- Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.

- Ensure network security by implementing firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures.

- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network-related issues.

Storage and Backup :

- Manage storage solutions and ensure data is properly backed up.

- Configure and maintain backup systems, perform regular backups, and restore data as needed.

Project Management :

- Lead or participate in IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.

- Coordinate with vendors and third-party providers for hardware and software procurement and maintenance.

User Support :

- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues.

- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.

- Develop and maintain documentation on system configurations, procedures, and policies.

Security Management :

- Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems and data.

- Monitor security systems, detect potential threats, and respond to security breaches.

- Ensure compliance with company security policies and regulatory requirements.

Automation & Scripting :

- Develop scripts to automate routine tasks and improve system efficiency.

- Implement automation tools to reduce manual interventions and streamline system administration.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology/MCA.

Experience : 5+ years of experience in system administration, network administration, or IT support.

Skills & Competencies :

- Proficiency in Windows/Linux/Unix operating systems.

- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g, VMware, Hyper-V).

- Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching.

- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
