Manager – Data and Insights

The candidate should be a self-driven, motivated professional with strong data analytics skills.
Should have robust field orientation and a proven track record of excellent interpersonal, leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, people-management, and communication skills.
Should be hands-on with statistical software, such as SPSS, STATA, R, Python, and data visualization and modeling tools.Description
The Manager – Data & Insights will be part of quantitative research & data analytics team and shall have following responsibilities that will include:Contribute to the achievement of institutional objectives by delivering exemplary services to clients by responding to the needs of specific projects and situationsLead tasks or work streams within an assignment typically focussed on the technical support to clients across various domains.
Provide on-going support and guidance to staff within their area of responsibility to ensure that they deliver their roles to an appropriate level of quality and according to the approaches and frameworks set out by MSCContinue to build his/her knowledge and expertise in core areas of MSC's client delivery work and may start to specialize in the work of the Data & Insights domain.
Detailed Responsibilities:
Business ExecutionLead or assist with the planning and implementation of medium/large technical assistance assignments – study design, monitoring, data quality check, data analysis, data visualization, report writingCommunicate with internal and external stakeholders and manage their expectations.
Conduct assignment set-up and de-briefing meetings of assignments where s/he is responsibleBuild rapport with various contact points at the client organization for successful execution of the assignmentsPlan and execute assignments with utmost due diligenceOversee and support the process of report writing and data analysisReview publications and research papers prepared, and technical assistance provided to clientsContribute to the development of MSC's toolkits and other publicationsHuman Capital DevelopmentConduct 'Quality of Delivery'/ feedback assessments with team members after assignment execution in line with the quality control guidelinesAssist and support development of other staff by providing guidance and advice where appropriateShare knowledge with staff and create opportunities for mentoringTake ownership of self-development by acquiring skills and knowledge which add value to the organizationGrooming junior team membersBusiness DevelopmentBuild relationships with existing and potential clientsDevelop and submit proposals and concept notes to generate businessRepresent MSC at conferences etc.
Author/ Co-author of thematic publications to be developed from field experiences (Focus notes/Briefing notes)Actively engage in Marketing Activities and participate in Digital Media dialogues (blogs, discussion forums etc.)
Requirements
Qualifications and experience:
Master in Business Administration or Masters in Statistics or equivalent, or any advanced course in data science/analyticsOther relevant professional qualifications in line with areas of specializationRich experience in leading research, analysis and evaluation projectsExperience of handling clients and managing stakeholdersThorough sectoral understandingStrong analytical abilities, research skills both quantitative and qualitativeExcellent planning, organizational and time management skills including flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlinesExcellent communication skills, writing skills, presentation skillsDesired skills and competences:
Ability to lead assignments and teams and work with minimal supervisionAbility to develop client relationships and win businessProficiency in using statistical software like SPSS/ STATA /R/ Python – knowledge of and experience in data visualization and modelling is a value add.
