About Applications Development at UPS Technology:

Our tech teams utilize their expertise in applications programming and database technologies to maintain enterprise infrastructure. They develop and support application frameworks and tools, and deploy applications and services across a multi-tier environment handling up to 38 million packages per day (4.7 billion annually). Working closely with our clients, this team creates innovative technologies tailored to achieve business objectives and enhance the overall customer experience. As a member of the applications development team, you will play a key role in UPS' global expansion and the delivery of valuable services worldwide.

About this role:

The Intermediate Azure Developer will assess business requirements and transform them into Azure-specific solutions using a range of Azure toolsets (Out of the Box, Configuration, Customization). The ideal candidate should possess experience in designing and building Azure solutions through both Declarative and Programmatic approaches, familiarity with integrating Azure with Salesforce, on-premises legacy systems, and other cloud solutions, as well as expertise in integration middleware and Enterprise Service Bus. Additionally, the candidate should be skilled in translating design requirements or agile user stories into Azure solutions, exchanging messages in XML/JSON format with third parties using SOAP and REST APIs, and utilizing Azure PaaS Service SDKs for .NET, .Net Core, Web API, and more. Collaboration with teams and support for emerging technologies are integral to ensure effective communication and goal achievement.

Additional details:

  • Involved in a global rollout of Azure Platform Management in 40 countries, across various languages, 1000 locations, and serving 25,000 users
  • Development of large-scale distributed software services and solutions leveraging Azure technologies
  • Hands-on experience with different Azure PaaS Service SDKs for .NET, .Net Core, Web API, such as Storage, App Insights, and Fluent API
  • Direct involvement with Azure App Services, Azure Serverless, Microservices, API Management, Event Hub, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Azure Storage, Key Vaults, Application Insights, Azure Jobs, Databricks, and more
  • Experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD, Azure support, code management, and branching, among others
  • Proficiency in programming and querying SQL Server databases
  • Capability in creating automated test cases and utilizing different testing frameworks (.NUnit, etc.)
  • Ensuring extensive test coverage to validate functionality and performance of solutions
  • Timely completion of tasks within set deadlines
  • Collaboration with teams to facilitate communication and goal attainment
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and expertise in resolving issues and defects
  • Creation of technical approach and design documentation
  • Engagement with offshore teams for design discussions and development tasks

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing and building Azure solutions using both Declarative and Programmatic approaches
  • Familiarity with integration middleware and Enterprise Service Bus
  • Hands-on experience with various Azure PaaS Service SDKs for .NET, .Net Core, SQL, Web API, including Storage, App Insights, and Fluent API
  • Ideally 6+ years of Development experience
  • Minimum of 4+ years of hands-on development experience with Azure App Services, Azure Serverless, Microservices, API Management, and more
  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps for CI/CD, Azure support, code management, branching, Jenkins, Kubernetes, etc.
  • Good understanding of programming and querying SQL Server databases
  • Experience in writing automated test cases and utilizing various testing frameworks
  • Proficiency in Agile Development methodologies
  • Must possess attention to detail
  • Self-Motivated attitude towards learning
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent education and work experience

Azure Certifications:

  • Azure Fundamentals (mandatory)
  • Desired: Azure Administrator Associate
  • Azure Developer Associate (mandatory)
