Role Overview

SucSEED is in search of a proactive, organized, and experienced Fund manager with exceptional organization and management skills to support its next Fund-II (SucSEED Indovation Growth Fund) at GIFT City, Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar. We seek a highly motivated, hands-on Fund manager who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate should have a successful track record in managing funds ranging from INR 200 Cr to INR 800 Cr, delivering consistent returns, and maintaining a strong focus on Growth Opportunities and risk management. As a Fund Manager, you will have the responsibility of overall fund management, including investment strategy, portfolio management, and investor relations. This role entails leading the Investment Management & Fund Operations and providing executive and logistical support on the fund's operational activities and special projects within the organization.

Location: GIFT City, Gandhinagar, adjacent to Ahmedabad.

Fund Size Managed: INR 200 Cr to INR 800 Cr

Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute investment strategies aligned with the fund's objectives. Continuously monitor and adjust strategies for optimized returns.
  • Monitor and manage risks associated with the fund's investments. Implement risk mitigation strategies and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, economic indicators, and geopolitical events that could impact the fund's performance. Utilize this information for informed investment decisions.
  • Track and analyze the fund's performance compared to benchmarks and industry standards. Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Sectoral analysts, Fellows, and Interns. Cultivate a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
  • Cultivate good relationships with Sectoral Curators and Thought Leaders.
  • Offer regular updates and insights on the fund's performance and market conditions through Investor Reports.
  • Manage relationships with the fund's portfolio team, ensuring a balanced and diversified mix of assets. Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify companies for follow-on investment opportunities.
  • Ensure all investment activities comply with relevant laws and regulations. Stay informed about regulatory changes and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Support all aspects of fund management, including fund controlling and quarterly investor reports.
  • Develop accounting and reporting processes and controls.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field, alongside a Professional certification (e.g. Qualified CA, CFA, CAIA). Alternatively, a Master's degree in Business / MBA (Finance is highly desirable).
  • Preference for candidates with experience in AIFs and AIF financial operations, with at least 6-10 years of fund management experience, managing funds from INR 200 Cr to INR 400 Cr upwards. Complementary experience in finance operations or fund services is a plus.
  • Demonstrated history of achieving strong financial returns and managing investment risk.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills. Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities. Experience in mentoring and developing junior staff.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in fund structures.
  • Strong sense for processes and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interaction skills. Proficiency in English (written & verbal) and preferably Hindi and/or Gujarati / Telugu.
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ambitious, passionate, and capable of working effectively under pressure.
