Statistics Lecturer

Nalanda Degree College in Gollapudi, Vijayawada is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Statistics Lecturer to join our dynamic faculty team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in statistics and related subjects, engaging in academic advising, and contributing to the department's academic initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence, student engagement, and continuous professional development.

• Teaching:
  • Deliver engaging and comprehensive lectures in statistics and related courses at undergraduate and/or graduate levels.
    
  • Develop and update course materials, including syllabi, lecture notes, assignments, and exams.
    
  • Utilize a variety of instructional methods to accommodate different learning styles and promote student understanding.
    
  • Integrate technology and innovative teaching practices to enhance the learning experience.
    
• Student Engagement:
  • Provide academic advising and mentoring to students, supporting their educational and career goals.
    
  • Maintain regular office hours to assist students with coursework, projects, and academic concerns.
    
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
    
• Assessment and Evaluation:
  • Design and implement assessment tools to measure student learning outcomes and course effectiveness.
    
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments and exams.
    
  • Participate in departmental efforts to assess and improve the curriculum.
    
• Professional Development:
  • Stay current with developments in the field of statistics and pedagogy.
    
  • Engage in professional development opportunities, including workshops, conferences, and continuing education.
    
  • Contribute to departmental research initiatives and collaborate with colleagues on academic projects.
    
• Administrative Duties:
  • Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other service activities.
    
  • Assist in the development and review of departmental policies and programs.
    
  • Contribute to the recruitment and retention of students in the statistics program.
    

• Education:
  • A Master's degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
    
• Experience:
  • Prior teaching experience at the college or university level is highly desirable.
    
  • Experience with online and hybrid teaching modalities is an asset.
    
• Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of statistical theories, methods, and software
    
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population and faculty team.
    
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
