Job Title: Commerce Lecturer
Job Summary: The Commerce Lecturer is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in commerce-related subjects, such as accounting, finance, marketing, economics, and business studies, at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. This role involves preparing and delivering lectures, creating and grading assessments, advising students, and contributing to the academic community through research, committee work, and other activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching:
- Develop and deliver engaging lectures and seminars in various commerce subjects.
- Prepare course materials, including syllabi, assignments, and exams.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and instructional technologies to enhance student learning.
- Maintain regular office hours to provide academic support and advising to students.

Curriculum Development:
- Design and update course content to reflect current developments in the field of commerce.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve and standardize the curriculum across the department.
- Integrate real-world business scenarios and case studies into the curriculum.

Assessment and Evaluation:
- Create, administer, and grade exams, quizzes, and other assessments to evaluate student performance.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their academic progress.

Research and Scholarly Activities:
- Conduct original research in a specific area of commerce.

Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, or a closely related field; a Ph.D. is preferred.
- Experience: Prior teaching experience at the college or university level is preferred. Experience in conducting and publishing research is also desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using business software applications and online teaching platforms. Familiarity with data analysis tools and statistical software is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner. Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Certifications: None required, but additional certifications related to teaching or specific areas of commerce can be beneficial.
Working Conditions:
- The role involves working in classroom, office, and potentially online environments.
- May require standing for long periods while teaching.
- Occasional evening or weekend hours may be needed for special events or research activities.
