About the Job:
As a senior member of our product research team at Target, you will play a crucial role in bringing our purpose to life across various platforms such as Target.com, Target apps, internal tools, and more. You will be involved in designing new retail experiences and enhancing existing ones.
The UX Research Team at Target is tasked with creating empathy for both the Target Guest and Team Member throughout the product development process for Target's digital products, including web and app experiences, internal tools, and in-store digital tools. The UX product researcher collaborates closely with multiple functions within the digital group to drive innovation and success.
As a Lead UX Product Researcher:
- Serve as a research expert within product teams, guiding research projects from start to finish by recommending methodologies and facilitating the research process.
- Provide expert guidance in conducting qualitative research projects including various testing methods.
- Plan and lead high-profile research projects to drive strategic decisions in Target's digital business.
- Collaborate with cross-functional product teams to support their strategic direction through research.
- Bring empathy and guest insights to business problems, focusing on generating insights and identifying opportunities.
- Mentor other UX product researchers and lead initiatives to strengthen impact.
- Ensure relevance and quality of insights through thoughtful assessment and clear success criteria.
- Uphold research ethics and enhance processes to scale our impact.
About You:
- Hold a 4-year degree in relevant fields like Anthropology, Psychology, or Human Factors.
- Minimum 8 years of experience with at least 5 years in UX design research for digital products.
- Demonstrate genuine curiosity about people and experiences.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to convey complex ideas effectively.
- Strong storytelling skills from data.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and adept at managing multiple projects.
- Skilled in project management and able to adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with quantitative UX research methods and survey analysis.
- Understanding of accessibility user testing with assistive technologies.
- Ability to align research projects with company strategy.
