Our job will include a broad range of responsibilities in a variety of different work settings such as chemical plant safety and environmental performance, process operation, optimization, modification, maintenance, and technology implementation.

Engineers must use sound technical judgment to enable safe and efficient plant operations. The majority of the positions are available in Louisiana, Michigan and Texas. Limited positions may exist in other sites in the United States.


Some Dow facilities are positioned near navigable waterways and are deemed TWIC facilities as per the Maritime Transportation Security Act.

Responsibilities - Duties, projects, tasks, and activities you would be responsible for in this role.

  • Responsible for understanding and implementing the Project Administration Operating Discipline.
  • Assist in the placement of all purchase orders for the procurement of equipment and material necessary to build the facility. Verifies documents are formatted correctly and ensures all documents are included from the design disciplines. Responsible for processing and distributing Material Specification Transmittals (MST) in a timely fashion.
  • Responsible for quality and timely issuance of labor contract packages which contain information necessary for bid and construction of Dow's facilities. Develops and maintains written specifications and drawing list. Responsible for ensuring all drawings, details and specifications are included, correctly billedout and properly assembled for reproduction and distribution of contract packages to the project team and construction contractors.
  • Is the focal point for all project moves associated with assigned project. Responsible for ensuring move work orders are correctly completed and submitted in a timely fashion for all project team members coming into and/or leaving the project area.
  • Assist during project closure and the establishment of maintenance files.

Other Significant Data:

  • Provides the necessary support for Design, Procurement, and Construction activities which will help the smooth and timely execution of the project. This is done by demonstrating proficient job skills, knowledge, team work and quality performance in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Works closely with the project engineer to maintain a timely flow of documents throughout the project team. Develops and maintains project files to ensure that consistency is implemented. These include files on labor bills, supplier documents, inquiry and order bills and/or all documents originated for the purpose of external/internal communication.
  • Provide assistance to peers on an as needed basis during excessive workload periods or act as a backup during peers' absence.
  • Responsible for working with Closure team to ensure all engineering documents are prepared for archive in accordance with plant/site requirements and delivered to plant/site after detail engineering is complete.
  • Is the Records Retention focal point for project team.
  • Responsible for creating maintenance files (electronic and hardcopy) with appropriate documentation of equipment that is necessary for plant operations.
Qualifications - Required education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves).

A high school diploma or equivalent

An Associate Degree of Applied Science in Process Technology and/or 4+ years of

relevant Military training

5+ years of relevant operations experience in a chemical or manufacturing-like space

A willingness and ability to work 12-hour, rotating shifts

2+ years of experience performing preventive maintenance and making preliminary diagnoses (EX: Pump or motor issues)

Preferred Skills - An expanded list of qualifications that are "nice to have", but not essential.
