What is your Role?

You will manage Hadoop clusters, data storage, server resources, and other virtual computing platforms. You perform a variety of functions, including data migration, virtual machine set-up and training, troubleshooting end-user problems, and designing assessment tools for storage and visualization applications.

They must be able to design, build, and maintain systems in both cloud and physical environments. Big Data Engineers must also be able to collaborate with other IT professionals, including software engineers, system administrators, and development teams.

You will be able to implement, monitor and maintain Hadoop systems in both cloud and physical environments.

You will be deputed at customer premises to assist customers with issues related to Hadoop Infrastructure, Software Infrastructure and Application Software (Products) deployed.

What will you do?

1. Deploying a Hadoop cluster, maintaining and administration of a Hadoop cluster, adding and removing nodes using cluster monitoring.

2. Performance monitoring of Hadoop components and optimization.

3. Create and manage VMs, installation of VM tools, custom virtual hardware provisioning as per guest OS.

4. Design automates scripts to improve efficiency, operational stability and operational integrity using PowerShell and Ansible.

5. Monitor system performance, identify issues, and perform troubleshooting activities.

6. Ensure the system documentation is up to date.

7. Collaborate with IT professionals in other departments.

8. Participate in system design, code reviews, and other development activities.

9. Maintain and improve system availability, scalability, and reliability.

10. Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies.

11. Stay updated with industry developments and emerging technologies.

What skills you should have?

Technical Domain: Linux, Big Data, Apache Hadoop, Virtualization, KVM, OLVM, Vmware, Ansible, System Administration.

Technical Skills: Apache, HDFS, YARN, Hbase, Kafka, Solr, Zookeeper, Spark, Redis, Postgre, etc

1. Experience in Linux (RHEL, Oracle Linux) administration. Must Have

2. Experience in Big data, Apache (Hbase, Solr, Zookeepar, Kafka), Hadoop Installation and administration is must. Must Have

3. Virtualization - Oracle Virtualization Manager, KVM, Containerization, Kubernetes Good to Have

4. Automation, configuration management tools and scripting (Ansible, shell, python, terraform etc)

5. Health monitoring tools like Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK Stack etc Must Have

6. Must have experience of System Administration. Must Have

7. Flawless & Clear Communication. Must Have

8. Exposure to installation of Servers and hardware troubleshooting, Data Center Experience Good to have

9. Database - Redis, PostgreSQL, HBase, SOLR Good to Have

10. Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving skills. Must Have

11. Exposure to Application Support, Upgrades and Troubleshooting Good to Have
