Job Purpose:

To assist COO & cluster head in planning new strategies for reducing manufacturing cost of South Zone plants

Job Context & Major Challenges:

To have new initiatives to reduce the manufacturing cost and to take steps towards sustainability and plan new strategies for business continuity under the direction of cluster head.

Major Challenges:

To analyze and plan the actions looking into business acumen and reducing the manufacturing cost

Key Result Areas/Accountabilities

Supporting Actions

Cost Control/Cost Reduction

Assisting Cluster head for Controlling, Monitoring and analysing variable & fixed cost of South Cluster. Units to operate in budgeted norms and ensuring execution of improvement actions for cost optimization. Daily Monitoring of Plant Operation & maintenance activities. Compare actual expenses against budget and suggest suitable measures to reduce the cost of the unit

Critical analysis of indent Advise, Work orders and other proposals and suggest suitable measures for decision-making Collect daily reports / information from Main plant, Mines, Manpower, Raw material, and safety. Critical review of Monthly progress review / Financial cost sheets and compare with other units for improvement. Assisting COO & CH in shutdown planning, monitoring & follow up for timely execution. Follow up with departmental Heads and functional Heads on the various technical matters. Analyse the data and provide input to plant for improving the performance.

Despatch Planning, Monitoring & Control

Assisting COO & CH for setting Monthly Dispatch targets of 18 units (7 integrated unit 11 Grinding units). – Set monthly production & despatch targets for Clinker & cement with the consent of Unit Head & Functional Head (Tech.) in view of production capabilities and plant availability.

Day to day dispatch monitoring. Plan, follow up with production, packing plant & logistic to meet/ exceed the targets

Projects & Developmental Jobs Monitoring & Control

Assisting COO & CH for monitoring of all ongoing projects and capex job and controlling project cash flows. – Monitoring of all Project activities at all units

Preparation of MIS to suggest corrective actions / inform Critical activities prior to any delays of schedule. Analysing and studying the developmental / modification schemes and assist COO & CH in decision making

Manpower rationalization

Assisting COO & CH in rationalization of Staff, workman & contractor manpower of the unit.

Review all plants of NC for of over time of workmen and analyse data. Recommendation of suitable automation measures to reduce non-productive activities.

South Zone Plant Visit

Assisting COO & CH during plant visit of north zone for interaction with plant team and reviewing the plant activities and their performance

·Interaction with plant team while taking plant round and reviewing the team's best practices and way forward. ·One to one interaction with people, contractors ·Reviewing the Capex status and new proposals. ·Compilations of all best practices and share to other plants to create synergy. ·Plant visit report by capturing all points which were discussed.

Supporting plant team

Supporting plants for inter-transfer of man and material on requirement basis

Supporting plant team to Coordinate for any spare/ manpower/ any specific item required from one unit to another unit

Coordinating with HO team

Coordinating with P&B cell, TPMC and CPC

Reviewing CAPEX and capital spares requirement at units and coordinating with CPC to release the funds timely. Working on new proposals and coordinating with TPMC for inputs and validation.

Organising Meetings

Meetings to be conducted with plant team to review their performance

Monthly presentation to be prepared by units in a format covering all the functions Organizing one to one review of individual unit and suggesting solution to the problem and closing the issue
