Role purpose:

  • Create and maintain Master Data for PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), starting with product chemical composition before addressing additional data objects that contribute to the compliant bill of materials.
  • Work closely with the PLM project team to meet data creation and maintenance requirements in the PLM system, including data migration support.
  • Support the development of PLM data creation and maintenance processes.
  • Maintain PLM Data within a defined framework while questioning business data requests to ensure data quality and flow into downstream systems.

Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with Production, Supply, Development, and Regulatory teams to ensure that changes in products are accurately reflected in the PLM Master Data.
  • Work with regulatory product chemistry for final validation of the chemical sameness of Syngenta products.
  • Develop workflows for data creation and maintenance in PLM. Manage and monitor creation of PLM data across functions.
  • Oversee data governance of all PLM data throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with departments to validate data from upstream (R&D) and downstream (ERP) systems to improve data quality and processes.
  • Support the streamlining of the final operating model for the PLM program through master data representation.
  • Provide data analysis and literacy support for the PLM program.
  • Monitor, measure, and report data quality. Identify and drive process and data quality improvements.
  • Assist in training new stakeholders on PLM tool usage. Communicate updates/changes related to PLM across the organization.

Critical success factors & key challenges:

  • Understand and evaluate product chemistry for potential Syngenta products.
  • Demonstrate self-sufficiency in leading data maintenance and integrity to adhere to guidelines.
  • Lead by example, influencing other functions to maintain data quality.
  • Plan tasks effectively by prioritizing work.
  • Self-starting, proactive, and business-minded.
  • Network and communicate effectively across functions and geographies.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in chemistry.
  • Understanding of product chemistry in relation to regulations and HAZCOM.
  • Experience in handling PLM tools. Proficiency in SAP PLM tool preferred.
  • Knowledge of global regulatory requirements for chemical product movement.
  • Ability to handle non-routine/ad-hoc work and challenge business data requests.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Understanding of HSEQ principles/regulations.

Critical experience:

  • 8-10 years of experience with at least 5 years managing PLM data for chemical companies like Lifesciences and pharmaceuticals.
  • Experience in complex process environments.
  • Regulatory knowledge for product chemistry supporting Logistics.
  • Expertise in data management, quality documentation, and implementation.
  • Effective communication with stakeholders and functions.
  • Proactive team player, knowledge sharer, and analytical thinker with planning abilities.
  • Self-motivated with leadership qualities to work in unstructured environments.
  • Ability to influence and deliver across diverse international cultures.
