Job Description

Role purpose:

  • Create and maintain Master Data for PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), focusing on product chemical composition before considering additional data objects contributing to the compliant bill of materials.
  • Work closely with the PLM project team to fulfill requirements for data creation and maintenance into the PLM system, including necessary support for data migration.
  • Support the development of PLM data creation and maintenance processes.
  • Maintain PLM Data within a defined framework while challenging business data requests to ensure quality and flow into downstream systems.

Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with Production, Supply, Development, and Regulatory teams to ensure new product and product changes are accurately reflected in the PLM Master Data.
  • Work with regulatory product chemistry for final validation and approval of the chemical sameness of Syngenta products.
  • Develop and maintain workflows for data creation and maintenance in PLM. Manage and track the creation of PLM data with relevant functions.
  • Ensure data governance of all PLM data across the business and organization.
  • Collaborate with different departments for data validation from upstream (R&D) and downstream (ERP) systems to enhance data quality and processes.
  • Support the PLM program's journey to streamline the operating model by representing the master data team.
  • Provide support for data analysis and data literacy in the PLM program.
  • Monitor, measure, and report data quality, identifying process gaps, and driving improvements.
  • Support training for new stakeholders on PLM tool usage and communicate updates/changes related to PLM within the organization.

Critical success factors & key challenges:

  • Understand and evaluate product chemistry concerning potential Syngenta products.
  • Demonstrate self-sufficiency in leading data maintenance and integrity to adhere to guidelines.
  • Lead by example and influence other functions to prioritize data quality.
  • Effectively plan tasks, demonstrate self-starting and proactive business mindset.
  • Network and communicate across functional and geographical boundaries.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in chemistry.
  • Ability to comprehend product chemistry information in relation to regulations and HAZCOM.
  • Experience in handling data with PLM tools, preferably SAP PLM tool.
  • Knowledge of global regulatory requirements for the movement of chemical products.
  • Capacity to handle non-routine tasks, challenge the status quo, and communicate effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and understanding of HSEQ principles/regulations.

Critical experience:

  • 8-10 years' experience with a minimum of 5 years in managing PLM data for Chemical companies like lifesciences and pharmaceuticals.
  • Experience in complex process environments, regulatory knowledge in product chemistry, and data management.
  • Skilled in communication, teamwork, analytical thinking, and planning.
  • Self-motivated with leadership qualities to thrive in unstructured environments and collaborate across cultures.
