Internal Communications Assistant

As Internal Communications Executive you'll help manage, and curate content for our brand-new intranet - Canopy, as well as supporting the wider team of internal campaigns and engagement activity.
You'll be a key member of the Internal Communications team, part of the WSP Marcomms function, and will support us in developing engaging content for our audience of more than 9,000 colleagues across the UK and Ireland.
You'll also have the opportunity to support on internal communications for our Africa business, as well as getting involved in global campaigns, working with our teams based at WSP's global Head Office in Montreal, Canada.
You'll be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with top organisational skills, an excellent communicator and be able to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
You'll always be on the look out to bring fresh ideas to the table in pursuit of raising the quality of our comms.

A typical week would include:
- Working with the business to develop content for our intranet including creating engaging headlines and leads, determining how best to display the content, and where the content should feature
- Managing the intranet homepage to ensure a balance of content
- Managing the approvals process for new content being added to the intranet
- Monitoring usergenerated content for appropriateness
- Monitor site analytics and report on key performance indicators
- Leading projects to improve sections of the intranet or deliver new tools through the intranet
- Creating video / graphics using design packages like Canva
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Experience managing intranets
- Unily experience desired though not essential
- Experience of writing, creating, and editing content for intranets
- A good understanding of user experience and content management governance principles
- Strong attention to detail and highly organised
- Excellent written communication skills, specifically spelling, punctuation and grammar
- A strong understanding of what makes engaging content
- Sound editorial judgment when sourcing, creating and scheduling content
- Ability to build effective working relationships across the organisation
- Solid experience of Office 365 including Yammer, Forms, Teams, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience in basic image editing and video production
