Overview
  • The Senior Data Engineer carries out tasks related to design, development, as well as daily management and upkeep of various database systems. This includes coordinating alterations to databases, coding, testing, and implementing physical databases for relational and non-relational solutions like Cosmos DB, MongoDB, SQL Server, Azure SQL, etc.
Responsibilities
  • In this position, the Senior Data Engineer will explore new technologies to stay up-to-date and skilled. They will design, deploy, and supervise MongoDB/Cosmos DB, SQL Server workloads across several enterprise applications. The engineer will also set up Power BI solutions and other Azure Data tools such as Data bricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, etc. Additionally, they will fine-tune performance by adjusting database programs to enhance processing efficiency, configure and merge databases with other information systems, address recurring issues with applications and systems, establish security protocols to safeguard databases, determine user access levels for different data segments, and provide technical assistance to departments and users facing database challenges to optimize database usage. Moreover, the engineer will research, diagnose, troubleshoot, and find solutions for data-related problems while understanding the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Required Skills
  • 4+ years of experience with Mongo DB/Cosmos DB & SQL Server/Azure SQL
  • 4+ years experience with MS T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Views
  • 3+ years of extensive hands-on experience using C#, ASP.NET, PowerShell
  • Experience with Azure monitoring tools: Azure Monitor, App Insights, etc.
  • Strong general Windows operating system and networking knowledge
  • Experience with using Git and Azure DevOps
Experience with the following technologies
  • Visual Studio
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008R2, 2016, Azure SQL
Nice to Have Skills
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
  • Microsoft SQL Server Certifications
  • Ecommerce domain experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Full software development life-cycle experience with the ability to multi-task and adapt positively to evolving business requirements or tasks
  • Strong experience collaborating in an Agile team
