About the Position:

The Deputy General Manager - Engineering plays a crucial role in overseeing the technical design and development of commercial products at Planys. Collaborating with the Lead - Engineering (ME, EEE, and MFG), the Deputy General Manager is instrumental in managing projects related to underwater vehicle manufacturing, assembly, and testing from inception to completion.

Responsibilities:
  • Development of underwater vehicle architectures/schematics in coordination with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams.
  • Analysis and evaluation of product designs throughout the development phase.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Project Management:
    Ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets, and adjusting project plans when necessary.
  • Team Management:
    Planning team resources according to project pipeline, fostering open communication, and promoting a positive team culture.
  • Preparation of product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
  • Maintaining a database of design and manufacturing processes, testing protocols, failure logs, repairs, and BOM.
  • Quality Assurance:
    Implementing ISO 9001:2015 quality standards, developing rigorous testing methods, and ensuring compliance before product delivery.
  • Establishing structured systems and processes within the department.

Skillset Required:
Expertise in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, New Product Development, Project Management, and Team Handling.

Educational Qualifications & Work Experience:
  • B.Tech/B.E. or M.E./M.S. in Mechanical or Electrical & Electronics fields.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience in the relevant industry and role.
