Ciklum is looking for a Senior Database Administrator to join our team full-time in India.

About the role

As a Senior Database Administrator, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow.

Responsibilities

Database migration from current on-premise database engines to target Azure Cloud database engines Database administrators are responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues related to on-premise and Azure databases This includes diagnosing migration issues, and connectivity problems, monitoring resource utilization, and analyzing query performance Regular maintenance tasks such as applying updates and patches should also be performed Manage Azure databases and ensure their performance, security, and availability

Requirements

Has 5+ years of experience in DBA, and support in Azure DB (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle & Maria DB) Strong Oracle RAC knowledge in a mission-critical environment Experience in migrating on-premise Databases to Azure Cloud using tools such as "ora2pg": Maria DB migration to Azure MySQLOracle RAC migration to Azure PostgreSQL Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replicationlog shipping issues, connectivity issues, security issues, etc. Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, and SQL Profile Troubleshoot SQL Server-related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space, and other resource contention Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, Clustering, Database mirroring, and Replication. Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options Strong knowledge of how indexes, index management, and integrity checks. How statistics work, how indexes are stored, and how they can be created and managed effectively Knowledge of Azure tools (Profiler, DTA, SSMS, SAC, SSCM, PerfMon, DMVs, system sprocs)Documentation skills for processes and procedures (creating KBs, runbooks, topology, Good command of English

Desirable

Knowledge of UK and/or Euro payment scheme Experience with microservice architecture projects Hands-on experience with Docker
