The Regional Compliance Liaison, Salary Grade 24, is responsible for Southeast Asia and South Korea region and is part of the Product Compliance and Support (PC&S) Division.

The PC&S team provides global enterprise leadership, deep expertise, and guidance in product safety and compliance, substance compliance, intellectual asset management, corporate product markings, and technical knowledge services.


As part of the PC&S organization, the Regional Compliance Liaison I is responsible for understanding the regulatory landscape and market access requirements in the assigned region/territory.

The incumbent is also responsible for interpreting and adapting the process for product compliance and certification according to the local law and language requirements.

The Liaison provides a communication conduit between the local regulators, marketing, the central product support organization, and the product groups to ensure market access (ability to sell) for Caterpillar products.


The incumbent participates either directly or indirectly in the government bodies and standard agencies in the region, representing Caterpillar when required regarding safety, standards, and regulatory compliance.

The position also identifies, communicates, and provides consultancy to product groups on the regulatory trends, safety and standards requirements for all Caterpillar products sold in the assigned region.

The role also collaborates with PC&S regional and global SMEs to provide regulatory expertise to product group compliance coordinators and works with industry, district and dealer teams in understanding market access requirements and challenges.


Basic Qualification:

  • The position requires a minimum of 5 to 10 years of product standards and regulation experience or 10 to 15 years of design or industry experience
  • Accredited degree in engineering or science or management.
  • Must be fluent (spoken and written) in English as this is the common language communicated across a diverse team.
  • Ability to travel approximately 1525%.
  • Capability to network and communicate across a diverse range of backgrounds, cultures, and management levels
  • Experience in technical advocacy and a broad knowledge of the Caterpillar product line
  • Strong ownership of the product compliance process, customer focus and commitment to deliver
  • Effective in verbal and written communications. Extrovert. Relationship builder. Ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members, product group engineers, managers and external business partners.
  • Skilled negotiator (ability to defend Caterpillar interest).
  • Demonstrated project management skills
