The Project:
Bechtel is collaborating with a leading Indian company to deliver Project Management Consultant (PMC) Services and Engineering Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) Services for the upgrade/expansion of petrochemical facilities in India worth billions of dollars. The assignment will involve coordinating PMC Services from India, specifically Mumbai, project sites across India, and key contractor locations. EPCM Services for OSBL will be managed from Bechtel's India offices.

In this role, you will join the PMC team within the client's organization, supporting their objectives while upholding values such as fairness, diversity, inclusion, trust, and collaboration as per our Vision, Values and Commitments.

Position Overview:

Exciting opportunity for a motivated engineer to oversee Control Systems engineering activities independently on the project. With a broad understanding of engineering principles, you will address discipline-related challenges, liaise with Contractors and Owners, and collaborate with the Core team Control Systems Lead.

You will manage control systems engineering tasks within a global business unit, utilizing your expertise to conduct engineering analyses and provide technical resolutions. Your responsibilities will include reviewing designs, participating in project forecasting, and promoting a conducive work environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, and professional growth.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversee engineering work on large, complex projects or assignments supporting a global business unit.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including licensors, contractors, subcontractors, engineers, scientists, and designers.
  • Address complex technical issues, propose solutions, and communicate effectively with clients and management.
  • Develop discipline estimates, work plans, engineering procedures, and design criteria while ensuring project adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Review and approve key engineering documentation, coordinate with project groups, and mentor junior team members for their professional development.

Desired:

Ideal candidates will possess a strong background in engineering systems, calculations, construction methods, and computer applications. Familiarity with project controls, industry standards, and relevant certifications (such as PE or CEng) is advantageous.

Experience:

Candidates should hold a degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited institution, coupled with substantial practical experience in design engineering. Additional background in PMC, EPCM, systems startup, field engineering, or industrial plant operation is a plus.

Assignment Conditions:
If selected, Bechtel will manage your relocation and logistical needs for the project, including Indian visas, travel arrangements, and accommodation in Mumbai.

For those open to relocation - Accommodation will be provided while in India, either solo or with a spouse.
For those preferring rotation - A single status rotational schedule is available, allowing for work in-country for 10 weeks followed by 2 weeks off in the UK throughout the project duration.
