Nalanda Educational Institutions is dedicated to providing high-quality education and fostering a nurturing environment for students. We are currently expanding our facilities with the construction of a new international school building in Vijayawada, affiliated with the IB curriculum, and seek a highly skilled and experienced Construction Manager to oversee this project.

Job Summary:

The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing the construction of the new international school building according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources, coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors, and ensuring the project's objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Project Planning and Management:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants to finalize building designs and specifications in line with IB curriculum requirements.
  • Establish and manage project schedules and milestones.

2.Team Leadership:

  • Lead and direct the work of the construction team, including contractors and subcontractors.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration among all project stakeholders.
  • Monitor team performance and provide guidance and support as needed.

3.Budget and Cost Control:

  • Prepare and manage the project budget, including cost estimates and financial reporting.
  • Ensure all project expenditures are within the approved budget.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks.

4.Quality Control:

  • Establish quality control procedures to ensure construction meets all regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality.
  • Address and resolve any issues or defects promptly.

5.Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and address safety concerns and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are obtained.

6.Stakeholder Communication:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare detailed project reports and documentation.

7.Project Closure:

  • Ensure all project deliverables are met and the building is ready for occupancy.
  • Oversee the final inspection and approval process.
  • Conduct a post-project evaluation and report on project outcomes and lessons learned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on educational or institutional buildings, preferably international schools.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • PMP or equivalent certification is an advantage.
  • Experience with IB curriculum requirements is highly desirable.
