General:
- Develop, plan, execute, and oversee intricate engineering studies for pipelines, risers, flexible pipes, and fluid-structure-interaction analysis in support of projects and operational tasks.
- Offer technical knowledge for technical assurance/verification, risk management, integrity management, technology development, incident investigation, and root cause failure analysis.
- Contribute to the development and upkeep of standards, guidelines, and processes related to subsea well, riser, and conductor wells engineering activities.
- Provide informal mentoring and training to team members, ensure high engineering quality in the field, promote continuous improvement in processes, and establish broad networks for effective knowledge sharing and implementation of technical practices.
Operations:
- Provide dynamic riser engineering expertise as the Equipment Owner for riser-related equipment and as the System Owner for assigned transportation systems.
- Act as a regional or global riser-related Subject Matter Expert designated by the Riser Discipline Lead, supporting all regions in specialized areas upon request.
- Collaborate with related disciplines to ensure proper equipment maintenance, including engineering and maintenance, corrosion control, flow assurance, production chemistry, pressure systems integrity, process safety, and structural/civil engineering.
- Identify and implement practical solutions to manage risks, enhance production efficiency, eliminate defects, and standardize operations for safe, reliable, and compliant practices.
- Oversee the documentation and data for assigned equipment, manage risk assessment for the equipment, implement Equipment Strategies, and address anomalies through to resolution.
- Prepare, review, and endorse riser-related metrics and take corrective actions when necessary, provide support for incident investigations, and manage the technical aspects of subsea contractors.
Drilling and intervention support:
- Provide support for drilling, completions, and intervention operations by handling analysis elements related to subsea wells, dynamic risers, and conductors in the Eastern Hemisphere.
- Ensure all engineering activities adhere to bp's Standards and Practices.
What you need for success:
Must have education/certifications:
- BSc or BEng (UK), BSc (US), or equivalent international degree in a relevant engineering field.
- Professional accreditation such as Professional Engineer or Chartered Engineer.
Must have experience/skills (required):
- Strong technical expertise across various areas pertinent to Operations, including risk assessment, dynamic riser engineering assessments, fitness for service, failure investigation, corrosion management, and riser inspection.
- Demonstrated proficiency in applying engineering standards and practices for Riser engineering.
- Strong leadership abilities, networking skills, and a capacity to influence across organizational boundaries.
Good to have experiences/skills (can be trained for):
- Aid in optimizing digital tools for continual enhancement of global subsea support, including data analysis, equipment dashboards, risk analysis tools, database management, and data visualization.
- Familiarity with data visualization software like PowerBI.
- Knowledge of Python, SQL, and similar tools as a citizen developer.
