  • Manage different Backup configurations. Agent and Snapshot based backup clients
  • Backup Provisioning/De-Provisioning as per user requirements

Manage different restore operations:
Complex and Cross restore

  • Installation and configuration of Backup servers and Clients
  • Analyze existing backup environment and provide expert advice for optimizations
  • Understanding functionalities of key Backup components/processes Deduplication/ Encryption / Replication / Space Reclamation / Migration / Snapshot / Retentions etc
  • Diagnose backup issues and follow up with root cause analysis.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work under pressure
  • Ability to work at a team level as well as an individual level
  • Perform checks for capacity issues on backup server, Configure and troubleshoot backup jobs Identify and troubleshoot, Hung long running long queued and slow backups
  • Perform Tape Assessment, Tape Ejects amp Loads, perform data restoration from backup, Perform Media management and process tapes for offsite storage by coordinating with Vendors
  • Maintains and monitors backup infra and physical tape libraries Configure and troubleshoot creating Storage policies, Sub client policies, Schedule policies and Networker tracker policies
  • Work in stretched shifts, 24X7 shift, odd working hours and weekends as per the work requirements.
6+ Years of Experience in handling

  • Hands on experience data backup and restoration methodologies
  • Hands on experience in managing Commvault & Veritas Backup Exec.
  • Experience in Perform daily backup routine maintenance, add clients, configure NetBackup agent on clients, has the capability to provide guidance and take up escalations from the L1 team.
  • Strict Adherence to use of the ticketing system for All incidents, changes, and problem management.
  • Provides support with an emphasis on Internal SLA and commitments are met on time and with a high level of quality.

Qualification:
Bachelor or higher degree in one of these fields.

BE/BTECH/MCA/BCA

  • Advance level certification from the Backup OEM's will be preferred
