The B2B platform within Target is essential for secure file transfers and serves as the foundation of our supply chain. The File Express product, part of the B2B platform, plays a crucial role in document transfers between locations, with over a million documents sent digitally each day to our business partners. Our team empowers partner teams with self-service options for setting up file transfers seamlessly.
As an engineer on our team, you play a key role in delivering the engineering prowess that drives the File Express product. Your deep understanding of technical architecture and design enables you to create robust and scalable software components. You showcase your expertise by tackling engineering challenges, prioritize software quality, and ensure the software components are both feature-rich and stable. Operating with autonomy, you troubleshoot operational issues efficiently, review code diligently to uphold software quality, and engage in activities that shape the product's design and architecture.

- Utilize your tech expertise to evaluate new technologies, contribute to service design and lifecycle management, and analyze the total cost of ownership.
- Engage in research and proof-of-concept projects for emerging technologies, participate in code and design reviews, and develop code based on designs.
- Deliver high-performance, scalable, and secure solutions, adhering to architectural and operational requirements while embracing best practices.
- Take part in construction, automation, debugging, and implementation tasks, contribute to disaster recovery planning, perform integration and regression testing, and automate test scripts.
- Tackle technical issues, monitor system capacity, explore metadata related to data sources and metrics, and comply with change and incident management standards.

About You
- Hold a 4-year degree or have equivalent experience.
- Possess 1.5+ years of software development experience.
- Demonstrate familiarity with current and emerging technologies in your area of expertise.
- Hands-on experience in Java, React, Docker, postgres, REST, Junit/Spock, etc.
- Continually enhance domain-specific knowledge.
- Have proficiency in integration and database technologies, along with open-source frameworks.
- Experience in maintaining and operating CI/CD processes.
- Be willing to learn about Vendor products.
- Proficient in version control tools, especially Git.
- Familiarity with Linux or Unix systems, including shell scripting.
- Knowledge in CHEF/Ansible.
- Understand distributed programming concepts and apply them in your domain.
- Understanding of data structures in your programming language and their practical application.
- Stay updated on evolving technologies through formal training and self-directed learning.
