Key Responsibilities:

1.

Food Preparation:

  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including chopping, peeling, and portioning.
  • Prepare and cook food items according to standardized recipes and instructions from senior chefs.
  • Ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented to the highest standards.

Kitchen Operations:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of food.
  • Assist in inventory management and stock rotation.
3.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Communicate effectively with the Sous Chef and Chef de Partie regarding any issues or concerns.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
4.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure the quality and consistency of dishes before they reach the customers.
  • Report any issues with food quality or kitchen equipment to the Sous Chef or Chef de Partie.
5.

Learning and Development:

  • Stay updated on industry trends and new cooking techniques.
  • Take advantage of learning opportunities provided by senior chefs.
  • Show initiative in seeking out additional responsibilities and tasks to support kitchen operations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Formal culinary training or certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen is a plus but not required.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Passion for cooking and a desire to learn and grow in the culinary field.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects as needed.
  • Exposure to heat, steam, and kitchen equipment.
