About the role

The SAP Basis - Specialist is responsible to undertake activities pertaining to SAP BASIS & underlying Database & OS.

This role requires operational expertise in SAP BASIS (underlying Database & OS) to ensure that ERP landscape is available & secure. Candidate will work with internal teams and Partner resources to ensure all Operations Processes are in place and being optimally executed to ensure SAP Availability and Useability. This includes activities pertaining to administration and keep environment current (i.e. ensuring patching is undertaken to avoid vulnerability risk).

Key responsibilities

SAP Administration and Database Management (Oracle & HANA)

Patch management & execution

Alert Management

Execute Technical changes in ERP landscape

Undertake activities to ensure SOX compliance within ERP landscape

Resolving vulnerabilities

Backup and Restore

Execute DR drills

Note: To avoid user & business impact several activities are performed during lean period, which would mean that candidate would be asked to work over weekends & off-business hours.

Qualifications and skills Essential

Minimum 7+ years SAP Basis hands on and operational experience. Must have worked in large (50+ instances) SAP Environment with HA / DR setup. Database Management (Oracle & HANA) Technical expertise in the following Products: SAP ECC SAP APO SAP BW SAP PI/PO DB (Oracle, HANA) & OS (Linux, Windows) Experience of hybrid operations (on-prem with cloud integrations) Experience of working in a global company including being part of a globally dispersed, multi-time zone support team. Ability to manage technical escalations. Working on Audit needs (technical & Auditors) and SOX compliance across the landscape Remediate vulnerabilities for SAP Landscape Azure based SAP landscape experience is a plus Pharmaceutical or other regulated industry experience is a plus.
