Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake and complete client account preparation in an efficient and timely manner
  • Verifying financial statements, ledgers, and accounts, identifying discrepancies, and making corrections where


appropriate or escalating internally if required.·Preparing income tax returns for a variety of different entities – companies, trusts, LTC's, individuals etc.

and ensuring all supporting schedules are included·Job management·Research alternative methods of efficiencies, for personal skills as well as efficiency for the whole team·Develop high client satisfaction with the level of quality you provide.

Foster trust that all work completed is error free·Identify and problem solve issues for your allocated jobs pro-actively·Seek opportunities (or gaps) in the support provided to clients and suggest improvements·Provide effective support to intermediate and junior bookkeepers in the form of formal and informal consultations on technical matters·Communicate best practices and other quality-related issues and insights both internally and externally·Act as an escalation point for issues that are identified in client financial statements·Ensure appropriate management of escalated critical problems, and if necessary, personally acting as the Problem Manager·Communicate regularly with the team to understand issues, anticipate needs, and address these.

Work together to solve problems·Provide ongoing communication to teams on status of quality, changes, achievements, etc.·Manage risks and liabilities relating to financial penalties/UOMI.


Service Delivery:

  • Develop and promote positive client relationships

  • Ensure the delivery of accounting practice support services to assigned clients meets or exceeds agreed Service Levels
  • Ensure information, procedures, and standards relevant to assigned clients are followed on every engagement
  • Understand operational processes to provide suggestions that would improve the client experience and quality of output
  • Proactively identify issues (technical and other) that may impact client success levels and work with management to implement robust measures that mitigate or resolve issues
  • Review the appropriateness of service offering to assigned clients, identifying opportunities to adjust client scope of service, and bring these to the attention of Admin Army Senior Management Team members as necessary.

Experience:

Essential:

  • Knowledge gained through previous New Zealand accounting experience, with a minimum of two years' experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of the New Zealand Tax system
  • Knowledge of and interest in accounting-related legislation
  • Strong background working with Xero, including XPM and Xero Workpapers
  • Experience in providing managed services and/or managing multiple clients
  • Proven background in accounts preparation with the highest attention to detail

Advantageous:

  • CCH Business fitness workpapers experience
  • Experience reviewing junior staff jobs
  • Experience developing accounts quality control measures
  • Experience using accounting software – FYI docs, Annature, Xero Ask, Connectworks
  • 2+ years overseas (UK, Australia, Canada) accounts experience.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Business Degree (or similar), preferably in accounting or finance
  • Xero Certified Advisor

Advantageous:

  • Chartered Accountant/CPA or similarOther software-specific certifications (e.g. MYOB, etc.)
